You should try live baits like frogs and also I’m from Australia and we use snake lures for Murray cod you should try to use a snake lures they are top water and so much fun. Great vid

Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could kzbin.infoUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.

It's a straight up Diamond Back Water snake, they are not venomous and are more scared of you than you are of them. I catch them barehanded all the time

Looks like a banded water snake not poisonous, if it was a water moccasin it would chase you, I had one chase me about 100 ft while I was beating him with my rod running backwards and I always fish barefoot.

That's not a Water Moccasin! That is a Brown Water Snake which is very common (and large) in the Southern States. Some people in the comment section need to do a little research before guessing that all snakes around water are Moccasins.
