Coming from a rural farming community (Yes, a farmer watches the Stradman.) I'd recommend getting what they call a Barndominium or a Shopdominium. These fancy "houses" usually have a full shop or barn floor (concrete) on the first level, and then living space on the second level. For the most part they are completely metal, unless you opted for wood. I think if you get one with a couple of garage doors instead of one large one, it would suit you pretty well. Literally you can customize these houses to anything you want. Just my suggestion, many people build these with intent of farming. But, who cares! Be different. And Howdy from Missouri!

As a Vette person things to watch; first Vettes sold will be Stingrays, no Grand Sports, no Z06's, best performance option available will be Z51, next preordering does NOT set price, and you know what dealerships will add as markup for the firs months/year; you may have the pull to get one at sticker but averages joes such as I will look at 5 figure markups which means I will hold on to my C7 indefinitely (unless of course I launch a successful KZbin channel). As for home, with prices so reasonable (I live about half hour south of Seattle depending on traffic) there, be patient and buy the land and build TO YOUR OWN TASTE.
