I had heard years ago that the red Fiesta ware was both radioactive and had high amounts of lead and people should not be using it....and that just popped in my head watching this. My wife and I always enjoyed walking through antique stores and malls.... been quite awhile, though. Hope you had a fun family time! Take care, be safe and God bless and a very Merry Christmas to you and your family!

yes! so when the plates have chips and cracks or holes then you are at risk to radiation exposure when eating/drinking off them AND lead exposure. So, they’re wonderful as a collectible but I wouldn’t use them.

@@ThePeopleDemandUraniumGlass Am sure you have heard it is not safe to use uranium glass juicers and pitchers for acid containing things like oranges and lemonade !

The colors of specifically Fiesta I have seen that contain radioactive material are the Chinese Red and Old Ivory (original cream). Other ceramics depending on the glaze material are obviously oranges, but also creams and blacks can be radioactive. or stoneware and other porcelain products, which are sometimes coated in green transparent uranium glass style material to turn them a less brutally white color for blending in homes or asthetic.
