Vijay sthambh- It means the establishment of victory. It's often also called dhwaja sthambh, which is a flag pole which is normally taller than a temple. It used to act as a landmark for the natives as well as visitors. Kind of like major locations that we use on Google maps to navigate.

Hi in mysore palace premises we don't have Lord nataraja temple... Someshwara temple is there but it's place left side from the entrance.

The boy wearing Red Tshirt you met in the last temple was trying to tell you something about Kashi Vishwanath (One of the most revered Shiva temples situated in Kaashi aka Varanasi or Banaras which is Shiva's own city ). Maybe the last temple you visited is a form of Kaashi Vishvanaath or Kaashi Vishveshvar also known as Kashi Vireshvar Bhagavaan.

bro there is a unsaid rule in india never trust a person for direction ,we have to read his expression and level of confidence he has regrding that place,and the reason why everyone tell u some direction is as they fell to be helping a person in the best of their knowledge ,but we indians mostly understand that a person is making fool (not in a bad way but unkowingly)of u directing in a wrong way by calulating their confusion level and confidence ,thats why we always confirn direction with two or three person ,all the best navigating lol.and its not their fault its in our nature to tell u a direction in best of our knowlege hope u are getting the point.
