I love how Marissa is so unfailingly cheerful and gets so enthused over every snake she relocates.

Nice. I'd love to see a prairie rattlesnake! For the past two decades all I've seen around me (south of Maricopa) are diamonds, mojaves, and some sidewinders - mostly mojaves!

Great job finding and relocating that diamond Rattlesnake Marissa! I'd need a snake crash course before I am comfortable sleeping in a tent in the desert. But I am learning as we go along here. I still hope to relocate to Central or northern NM some day.

That video so clearly shows how different a snakes personality. One Hopi was either having a very bad day or was super defensive. The other appeared very chilled. I've no idea about time, temperature or any other environmental factors that may cause the difference... Very interesting to watch.

Most rattlesnakes where I live are Prairie Rattlers. I'm not sure if I've ever encountered a rattlesnake that wasn't a Prairie Rattler. We have Massasaugas, too, but they are far less common than Prairie Rattlers. After that is Western Diamondbacks. I've heard that there may be Timber Rattlers as well in neighboring areas.

That sounds great. Where is it? I can tell you if there are Timbers.

I want to say I love your videos, and yes I am very afraid of snakes, but I still check you guys out several times a week. Just one question have any of you all gotten bit by one of the rattlesnakes and if so how do you handle it?
@RattlesnakeSolutions2 жыл бұрын
I bet in time, you start to grow some more appreciation for them, too! Interest is where it starts, and that much you certainly have. It can take awhile for our brains to sort it all out. On the question about if we have been bitten - I'll be answering this in detail in an upcoming episode ... but yes, it was me, and it was a dry bite.

I always say part of the reason I ended up with a hognose snake is because of how rattlesnake-y he looks, and those Hopis really show that off! They're so pretty.

@@RattlesnakeSolutions Where we live is between two large areas that, from what you said in another video, are perfect sidewinder habitat. Would they be likely to cross a large, cleared area with humans and dogs around to get from one area to the other?

@@rneustel388 They do, though over a long period of time they might learn to avoid it. If you don't see a lot of them now, you probably won't see anything different unless something changes in the surrounding area.
