Sears Craftsman FF/20 revival, part I: Getting it running again

We bought this in 2009 actually, it hasn't run since it's first resurrection at that time. We're taking this to the Zagray Farm Fall Festival in Colchester, CT October 6th and 7th, 2012.

Some tractors had reversable rims to give it a wider stance for stability. I have seen ads for those selling them against the john deere 400 which has a 19hp kohler, the 420 which has an onan 20hp and the 430 which has a 20hp yanmar diesel.

That’s amazing I see a lot of videos with lawnmowers that were abandoned for seven years left outside and started, my dad has an old 1990 or maybe 1989 Ropa 14 hp Briggs & Stratton twin opposed the only thing needed is a starter on waiting for it this week, he didn’t start it for two years and it’s set in his garage never left outside I’m praying I have the same blessings everybody else does and it runs

My fix for a dirty carburetor and jets: boiling water and sugar soap. Let the whole lot soak for an hour, works brilliantly

I've always had the opposite experience with carb cleaners. I've stripped automotive paint off of cars with the Walmart special Supertech carb cleaner.

The way the tires are mounting on that tractor it was set up for lawn mower racing,that explains why the racy paint job also. Just my thoughts or 2 cents :)

I know they put these against the Deere 400 series and the Cub 982s, but I don't think they ever put them against a Bolens large frame. Of course they are bigger than the FFs, so it probably wouldn't have made sense for them to do so

i have a question on that sears? msg me if you see this please, would much appreciate it. i have a ff 24 sears and i got the carb mostly tuned but when i give it full throttle it wants to race off! is there away to fix that or help resolve it?

nice tractor, the mods i don't like are the paint and flat black paint and racing seat and conferderate flag, if that racing wheel had a wood surround, bigger and was put on right, it would look ok
