Great to see these trees used as bonsai, I've never seen one in Canada.

Hi Nigel. Nice to hear from you. I have come to discover that they do (south Africa's searsia) exist as garden trees and bonsai in North America but more so in the Southern half of North America and they use the common name 'African Sumac'. And I have seen, exotic to us, searsia in north America using the common name 'Sumac'. We don't use the name Sumac in south africa.

@@living_sculptures_za Thanks, I'll keep my eyes open for them. We have a native Sumac, Rhus typhina, the staghorn sumac.

@@TheBonsaiZoneyes. Ours were also previously named Rhus but the name changed to Searsia fairly recently.
