Early bird sneak peek! Alright! This is one that I've had my eye on, but I didn't think it was close to being out yet! Excellent!🍻

Good video. I love this game. Total reminds me of War at Sea by Avalon Hill. With alot more ships. Map is occward but reason would be the Mediterranean would be so small for gameplay, with all the counters. South America is messed up. Ok maps are poor! But the game itself is alot of fun. Thanks for the cool video!

Really appreciate this box opening. I've been playing "The War at Sea" and "Victory in the Pacific" since the 1970's, and have tried several versions of a "combined game" to create a global ww2 navy game, hence I have been intrigued by this design. I thought the original artwork of the world map for the game was hideous, but I confess feeling that the final product isn't too bad. The small ship counters are a bit of a "turn off" after the nice large (chunky?) counters of the old games mentioned. I will probably never be able to afford the postage costs from the U.S. to buy the game, but I would love to watch a video of the game being played. Excellent work as always. Cheers.

I don't know where you live but you can get it at second chance games for less than 60 pounds. So it's not super expensive.

@Marc Hanna Thanks Marc. I reside in the antipodes, so you can probably add another 30-50 (or more) pound for postage if I want it before 2030 (seems a "hefty" box). It's the cost of postage (and weak Australian dollar) that make a purchase prohibitive. Still, I'll look into your tip, thakyou. At least the U.K. postage is a lot cheaper than the U.S. Cheers.

I agree Bucko's Piffle, I am not a big fan of the small counter, and as I get older, even less of a fan. Hopefully, this will be soon be available at some of your retailers over there.

@@NerdWorkshop1 I placed my order after I took a look at the rules (10 pages only). I love the detail of the port mats and the map, plus the fact that it is a one-mapper and you can play out the whole war. There are also variants (e.g. Spain entering the Axis side). Looking forward to it. Thanks, Nerd, for peaking my interest in the game! Cheers!

Thanks for the opening / first impressions, it's actually a single most anticipated game this year. I'm really hoping this will be an ultimate "playable monster" covering full WW2 at sea...

Thank you for the unboxing! I am very interested in adding this game to my collection. I just got in my holy grail game in Three Days of Gettysburg. Looking forward to getting that on the table asap but definitely will have my eye on Seas of Thunder and see how it plays.

I appreciate the glimpse into the box. To my eye, though, that map is certainly more functional than pretty - the oversized Mediterranean (half of Europe is inundated!) and the Black Sea in the middle of Asia are rather off-putting.

I'm sorry, this is not 'a really nice looking map' you exaggerate :) -- it does look functional -- but quite an eyesore to examine all those odd pointy Zone of Influence areas. I don't like it when maps arbitrarily divide zones into odd shapes -- always a problem with area movement games -- but why does zone 64 look like a funky-shaped 'Nevada' while zone 101 is 50% bigger than the zone north of it (zone 108 I think). Look at sea area 75, Persian gulf -- is there any justification for not just rolling it into Sea zone 74? and so on? Here is my answer -- it's entirely arbitrary but perhaps based on historical outcomes otherwise not being possible if such borders were not created. That's a stretch to toss the designers a bone and perhaps unjust, I don't know if I want to pay for the game to read the designers notes to find out what they were thinking. I don't know if there is a way to get around this odd mechanism of area-based sea games. All of them have it. Also, of course, is that the land war (on the larger scale) cannot be influenced by the sea war except by the mechanism of Victory Point totals and maybe landings on places like Guadalcanal. I'm sure it's cool for naval fights ala War at Sea and Victory in the Pacific in key areas, which is the reason to buy this game, not for the horrid map. One can't imagine much fighting around the tip of Africa, Madagascar, South America, the Great Australian Blight and so on, so it's all wasted space on this map. PS if you are going to give a lovey-dovey thumb to stuka joe for his minor reply you should probably give one to every single person who bothers to comment, because stuka joe didn't say much of anything to gain that thumb, you know! lol

@@robertmoffitt1336 I must be brilliant! [ I see you added a comment about wargame map vs candy land look, but I never came close to projecting I expected that. I did say it was functional for a wargame map, although the map has a lot of useless area. still waiting for a meaningful explanation but I think I've got all I will get ]
