SEASCAPE SPONGE PAINTING ~ Acrylic Painting with a Kitchen Sponge

Painting over an existing painting with a kitchen sponge is an unconventional (and a bit scary) yet liberating approach to artistic transformation. With each stroke, the sponge becomes a tool of reinvention, blurring the boundaries between the old and the new. Old colors are transformed and enhanced adding a lot of interest. The sponge adds depth and unpredictability, infusing the artwork with a tactile quality that engages both the artist and the viewer.
As layers of color merge and blend, the original composition is reimagined, evolving into something entirely fresh and unexpected. This is always so exciting to me!
This process of painting over offers a sense of renewal and experimentation, allowing me (and you!) to breathe new life into the creation while embracing the imperfections and spontaneity that arise along the way.

Intuitive painting is difficult to do a tutorial on. It is the artists choices and has to be developed over time. More advanced style and experimentation is how you get there over time. Everyone would end up with something different in the end and all could be beautiful. It is very subjective.

How do u keep the acrylic from dring before the next application?

I don’t do anything to keep it from drying. If I want to extend a bit I would use Liquitex matte medium or water😀 thanks for watching!!
