While first season was where they mostly tried to estabilish setting, and they played safe with episode structure. Season 2 was all about estabilishing characters and tone of series in general, and stories are all over the place.

@@loganthesaint Actually, by "all over the place" I meant that episode structure in season 2 is much more diverse than season 1. Season 1 was pretty much all about parodies of classic S-F tropes and Fry adapting to his new life and old/new job. In season 2 we still have that, but other themes and character arcs are introduced.

Well they did have everything planned from the get go, for example you can see nibbler's shadow in episode one so it is possible that fry's lack of the delta brain wave is exactly why it starved.

People often don't really have much knowledge of anything when it comes to politics at all, but then when it comes to important organizations that are within their fictional shows that they love to watch they pay very close attention to that. 😂

The earlier seasons of Futurama were amazing. The first 3-4 episodes of Season 1 were awesome too, especially "I, Roommate." But Season 2 was my favorite. It had episodes like "A Bicyclops Built for Two," "The Deep South" (which I can really relate to because I grew up just north of Atlanta in Forsyth County and went to GSU in downtown Atlanta, so I know the city very well), and "Mother's Day" (my favorite episode of the season).

Star Trek had been outlawed for over seven centuries. It had been outlawed for so long that nobody remembered it except Fry and a guy who is not an effect. So nobody remembered that it had been outlawed either.

The beginning of that episode starts with the main characters in a video store with Fry stating how great the first six Star Trek movies were, followed by everybody in the store getting startled and putting themselves on the ground like a shooter just came in, Leela stating the words “Star Trek” were forbidden, the police getting called, and Bender and the rest smuggling Fry out of there. I’d say they knew Star Trek was a forbidden property.
