Chris calling about his parents possibly dead has all the compassion and worry of someone ordering a pizza

@nonnyena42672 жыл бұрын
I dunno. I only get pizza when i've been jonesing a slice for a few days, so by the time i order it... I can get a little ... _enthusiastic_ from the anticipation. But if i ever got a call from the newspaper asking me to react to a death i wasn't aware of, when i called the _authorities_ to get everything clarified, there would be _a lot_ of *_"What kinda fuckin' Mickey Mouse Hellscape of a department do you fuckin' jerks have there anyway? The goddamn _*newspaper's_* doin' your fuckin' notifications now??" Because that's what *_i_* was thinking as i listened to the narrator tell it - and i'm _completely_ uninvolved -- never even _heard_ of these people before -- sitting in my wee farmhouse almost _two decades_ later & over eleven hundred miles away! *ALSO* I don't get _why_ the _newspaper_ would call the _second_ eldest -- who's a couple hundred miles away -- to ask _him_ about it? I understand that Mr Porco was an Appellate court clerk and maybe that's a bigger deal in a town of 35,000? *Okay.* i just checked the crime stats in Bethlehem: They seem to average 2.9 murders _a year,_ so, *Yes,* this would be a very big deal. But i'm still wondering how the _newspaper_ tracked Christopher down before the LEOs did. Surely the police would have, at the very least, gotten campus security to do the notification. Sounds to me (in my _completely_ unbiased mindset/s) that Christopher had been waiting all day to be notified, got tired of waiting, wondered if they'd been found and decided to "coax the cops in the right direction." It's all so damn sad.

Him on autopilot after the attack is the most haunting thing I've heard in any of these true crime videos. His wife of multiple decades is laying in the bed next to him, her face smashed in, eye severed and mangled, she's bleeding profusely everywhere but somehow her body still clinging to life and yet none of that registers as 'bad/wrong/scary' in his mind, his mind accepts everything he sees as acceptable, as normal. So he gets out of bed, makes lunch, gets the paper... Just on autopilot... No fear, no concern, nothing. The bit that really bothers me is that at some point whilst getting ready for the day he would've been in front of the mirror in the bathroom, he saw his own face bruised, torn and bloodied and even that still didn't stir ANY self-preservation instincts in him. Again, on total absolute autopilot. That's pure nightmare fuel.

That’s not love, that’s enabling. Enabling parents are annoying and toxic. their enabling actions means they don’t truly respect or care about other people’s rights and welfare at all. Only their own children matter in this world, other people don’t count in their book. these kind of parents put their children’s every whims above other people’s possible pain or hurt. They refuse to see, feel or acknowledge their children’s impact on other people. They think and act as if their kids are entitled to bad behavior, which really means they feel their family is entitled as one unit. So their children will learned and copy this entitled attitude, behavior pattern and this twisted value system from such parents. Some seemingly soft spoken parents and dog owners who refuse to discipline their children or dogs are the worst bunch of people in our society, only that their toxicity is spurred out covertly instead of overtly.

Actually, wouldn’t that be a good way to go in a situation where you are being murdered? Not having any cognizant ability to realize what has happened to you? I would much prefer that to being in extreme pain and realizing that your son has just delivered your death sentence. Of course, we all have deep compassion for this poor guy, but I can’t help but feel that he left this world in a state where he wasn’t suffering at least. That is something to be grateful for, in my opinion. P.S. I should mention the fact that if his injuries were of such that the medical profession could actually save him, then it would be extra tragic because he didn’t have the wherewithal to call 911.

This case was covered on Forensic Files years ago and it blew my mind (no pun intended) when they described how the victim just went about his morning routine after being brutally bludgeoned like that. Apparently there is a specific part of our brains that store all of our everyday actions and that part of the victims brain was somehow undamaged and that's how he was able to do all the things be did. It's horrifying and fascinating all at once. Imagine bringing life into this world and caring for, nurturing, loving and giving that life EVERYTHING you have only for that child to grow up and bash your skull in because that WASN'T ENOUGH.

Look at the way his dad handled his sons theft from his bank accounts and forging his signature for loans. Normal parents would have completely cut off their child, if not possibly disowning them for a time. His parents obviously babied him and condoned his sense of entitlement.
