Thanks man! I was considering one but was a bit mentally reserved about the fixed built in battery as we all know they have limited lifetime. Plus there are reports about occasional issues with QC - loose pickups and so. You helped me with my decision. Thanks!

Very interesting video, thank you for sharing. I was interested in one of the US all mahogany versions of the Acoustasonic Tele and wonder if these might be a little stronger structurally? There would still be the battery issue though! I’ll probably go for a traditional acoustic now, but don’t like the ‘bulk’ of them, which is what really appealed about the Acoustasonic. Thanks again for sharing and sorry you (and others) have had a bad experience.

@@mikelowry5027 they aren’t as bad but still doing the same thing unfortunately just not quite as bad, the issue is the top is a veneer and doesn’t have the supports needed to handle the pressure of the strings pulling
@skeelgso3 ай бұрын
@@mikelowry5027 now that being said, I a friend that uses the Taylors TZ5 and those are made a lot better, don’t get all the tonal options but going from acoustic to electric sounds might be a good idea. For me I do looping shows so the fender was appealing, I have a Taylor 314ce and Gibson J45-AG Walnut and for acoustics they sound much better but they idea of using acoustic and electric sounds was really appealing doing what I do. The Taylors doesn’t quite fit that need I need so I haven’t gotten one. For a straight acoustic sound I would go for a straight acoustic, in a band setting where you can do acoustic and electric I would be tempted towards the Taylor if I needed, but my band is always electric and if we do acoustic we do straight acoustic.

@@skeelgso I think that has made my decision for me and my money will be going elsewhere! Thanks again. Will look at short scale / smaller bodied acoustics I think. I’m a big guy but am put off by the size of dreadnoughts etc and find them uncomfortable to hold / play
@mikelowry50273 ай бұрын
@@skeelgso interesting, thank you. I’m just a home player (no gigs) so don’t really need a hybrid type guitar. Probably makes sense for me to just get an acoustic alongside my electrics. I’ve got a Fender Joe Strummer campfire acoustic, but really don’t like it. I might look at a Taylor GS Mini…they always seem to get good reviews and the Koa Plus models look great…much less money than a US Acoustasonic!

Seems like a really major design flaw. Any good guitar should be able to last at least 30 years, if not a lifetime (that also depends on how well the owner takes care of it). I guess you don't really know what the company is like until you find yourself in a situation like that, but I'm pretty sure yamaha and many other companies have a limited life time warranty that would cover flaws in the manufacturing.
@skeelgso3 ай бұрын
That is how I see it, I good instrument should last and be played for years, but fender I’m sure has a team the realizes how much loss is anticipated versus money made and they probably decided this was a more profitable way to make a guitar than fix the flaw
@DaleRobertSzyms3 ай бұрын
When I played one at Guitar Center i thought it was cool although I wasn’t overly impressed with the sounds. It also felt very fragile like if you played it hard something would break. I ended up buying a Micheal Kelly Hybrid Special instead for like 1/3 the price and love it. Also, I’ll second on the Godin A6, great guitar, Godin really builds quality instruments.
@neighborscomplaint685919 күн бұрын
I had a Michael Kelly Hybrid also. That was a great guitar. The Epiphone Ultra LP’s w their blendable piezo pickup also do a nice acoustic-like sound and play like a good LP. Both of those Fender Acoustisonic models feel like toys.

That sucks. I think I got lucky with mine, it was from the first run of acoustasonics and I've never had these issues. Only issue I have with it is the high E loves to fall out of the nut slot. For me it does what I need, but that's just my experience so far about 4/5yrs later. I'm sure I've jinxed it now though😄 Plenty of other companies do not give a shit about you after the warranty is gone too. The attitude is, too bad these things can happen go to a luthier. While yeah I agree general maintenance is expected, but I have experienced some quality issues so bad the guitar is actually unplayable (neck in constant back bow, graphite in neck instead of truss rod, so you can't readjust it). Anyway it's reasonable when you get burnt not to want to give these companies any future business.

This is different it’s an actual design flaw, the guitar I got was actually only one of many I have seen that have done this. If it hasn’t happened to you I’m glad it’s working good, hope it stays it gigging condition. It the top bows like it did on this and the others I have seen it’s actually unrepairable

The first picture you show , looks like the Bridge is coming "Unglued" from the body. Not that the Top is breaking loose. Is there Paint or Finish Under the bridge ? If so that's why the Big is coming loose. You can not have ANY ! Not even a tiny amount. And it need 100% Titebound Original coverage. Not the 3. As you may have to remove it someday. And No "HIDE" Glue it stands for Holds Initially Delaminates Eventually.
@skeelgso3 ай бұрын
@@michaellandreth1392 the issue on most of the acoustisonics I’m seeing is the edges of the bridge is coming off the body because you can see two lines where the body is bowing under the bridge. They aren’t using the correct support to support the body under the bridge. The only fix is actually to have two bolts come through the tops of the body and bridge and try and pull it flush. It’s truly a design flaw. Is the top was flat and this was happening it would be an easy fix, but this is where the veneer top doesn’t havent enough strength to hold the amount of force the strings exert towards the top at the bridge. It’s honestly a design flaw that isn’t repairable, and fender refuses to address this issues and fix the flaw
