Decent podcast lads. Finally someone who’s trying to look at the positives rather than just the negatives.

I hear a lot about Rooney's contacts, despite him not having a transfer window at Birmingham there were also no rumours of players coming in either. I suspect his contact list isn't what people think. As for Rooney improving forwards, Jay Stansfield managed 4 in the Rooneyball era - very rarely on the winning side. The wins we had under Rooney were at home to Wednesday (and we made Wednesday look good) and away to Cardiff - a game where he ended up playing pretty much a Eustace formation/team! There were quite a lot of stories of him not turning up to training - not going to repeat them as they might be bovine poo - but not great. He lost the home fans quite early into the poor performances and once he lost our away following we knew time was up. Good luck to you guys for the season - I do hope it works out as I wouldn't wish the level of performance drop off we had on anyone.

When you are playing no fear football , keep losing 3 nil and he keeps saying he has saw improvement , wtf

If you’re talking about when he was at Birmingham they didn’t seem to do much improving with the 20 games that were left and 6 points above the relegation zone after when he got sacked. 🤷🏻♂️

@@MrJonny7575 Players that were demotivated by constant management changes probably did help either. Part of the issue for Brum was when Mowbray went off sick - Venus as temporary manager didn't work.

DC brought in 15 players during rooneys 15 months there. They spent a lot of money during their close season, expecting him to reach the play offs after finishing bottom the previous season with rooney arriving before the end of it. Thats why they got rid of him/mutual consent straight after he failed. 4 of the 15 were from english football. Benteke was one of them. There are 15 teams in the MSL eastern conference. You need to be at least 9th to reach the play offs. They were still in the running going into their last game which they won but the team they were chasing won as well. So from that they must have finished 10th or lower of the 15. So he only improved them at most 5 places.. Did better at derby tho rosenior was there with him right through. He signed 11 players at the end of the first season. 5 free agents including jagielka and 6 loanees so that probably helped them attain the points they managed. He also quit them for DC after they were relegated to league one. Which shocked a few there as new owners where supposedly on the horizon. Birmingham was a total disaster however you look at it. However the interview he has just done along with halletts.has eased my concerns to a degree. Just need a good rosenior type assistant or maybe dewsnip might do a similar kind of thing to help him. He might succeed but its an incredibly tough job to manage argyle. Location and budget has always hindered us. So good luck to rooney. Hes going to need it.

@@MrJonny7575 they won just 24 games out of 85 under Rooney with a win percentage of just 28.2% virtually all the coaching was left to Rosinior, if you think that's good then your easily pleased
