first time watching overlord is confusing, but you get invested in the world, you rewatch and read people's discussion, get to know more of the subtle details, you start to get more invested. then you read the novels, you get confused, reread, get to know more content that was left out of the anime, and get even more invested.

overlord was written by a dnd lover if i'm not mistaken so it's very lore heavy with tons of good characters with solid backstories. and there will be plenty of moments that might be a bit confusing at first but make much more sense later on

Author loves DnD, used to host many campaigns as DM until his friends got bored/moved on so he wrote Overlord as an idea for a campaign or for a solo campaign iirc.

An interesting fact that's never told on the anime. The parchments demiurge is working on, are made with skin. He's got a "farm of lambs" who his subordinates skin them alive and then they heal those "lambs" right away so they can recover their skin and be ready for the next harvest. There are some really nasty gruesome details that aren't explained in the anime. Remember the guys who attacked Carne village? None of them was killed by ainz during the battle, he captured them all and experimented and tortured them back in Nazarick. Nigun, the leader who summoned the biggest angel, he was the first to be tortured and sadly died too quickly during the torture due to some weird spell he was under in case he was tortured, a self destruct or something like that. The others were also questioned but some of them were subjects to experiments. A heartwarming experiment they were interested in, is if they could chop off their limbs and feed them to themselves then make those regrow with healing magic, just to see if they could keep them alive without needing to grow food for them. Demiurge is a farmer after all, heh.

hey guys if you could i would recommend doing - "kumo desuga nani ka" (so i am a spider so what). it will be more from the kind of anime you guys r doing (isekai but like slime and overlord) so it would be fun. be warned the animation is bad and has CGI but the sotry and hype is good

kumo desu ga nani ka is probably one of the more fleshed out light novels, being one of the very few stories that explains everything in the story from the isekai event itself to all the mechanics of the world. Despite it being so well put together, it has the worst anime adaptation I have ever seen. I can't wait until AI generation gets developed to the point where someone can build an anime from scratch. Use Sora AI text to live action to develop all the scenes, Corridor Crews anime generation method to convert to a high standard of animation like studio ghibli or mappa or bind, even throw in some custom AI ost's by mixing mozart, hiroyuki sowano, john williams, or whatever other music you want. At some point fanfics would get their own animes lol

Don`t worry about missing some stuff, Overlord is a series that could have easily been 24 episode per season with the amount of details in Light Novel after all. Now i wonder if you guys will like Overlord with how it is presenting the story, since this is not a fighting anime, but a political and world building anime. we will see with how you guys rate this first arc.

if you want fights this isnt the series for you, giving overlord a 7 out of 10 cos you thought the last season fight saved it ... its honestly a slap in the fase this isnt the series for you if you want fight scenes you might go an entire season without an epic fight so if thats your bread and butter go watch dummy lee luffy and his gumgum BS

if you rate anime series on the fights then that is a really shallow and honestly insulting way to rate series , again if you want fighting series go watch crappy onepiece or bleach or black clover theres tons of fighting anime for people to turn off their brain and look at bright colors loud characters and explosions

SPOILER The dragon is not a player. The world used to only have wild, dragon magic. The Dragon King saw into other worlds but didn't have the concept of video games. When he saw Yggrassil and that the world was about to come to an end, he wanted to steal the world items. So he used a massive wild magic ritual to teleport them to the world. However, it messed up wild magic in the world because he didn't realize it was CREATING those items, not just teleporting them. Older dragons know of this and know at least a bit about Yggdrassil. As a side effect, the areas and people around them got pulled over as well. Generally the more world items in a place, the longer it took to summon and the more was summoned. Considering the Ainz Ooal Gown guild had the most in the game, it's likely their guild hall is the last to be brought over.
