A lot of people seem to think that Jeremiah is overreacting when he said that Belly left him, but I think it is valid to say that. Like I get it, shit happened and they were all grieving, but even though Belly and Conrad got together, and Jere was still hurt, she was so focused on Conrad that it seemed she forgot that Jere was going through THE EXACT SAME THING, like if me and my best friend were not in good terms, but I knew that they were going through something so devastating, I’m gonna to try to reach out and support them no matter what. Maybe that’s just me, but also everytime I see Jere cry it breaks my little cold black heart 😭

First, so far this season 2 has been very disappointing, I’m especially thinking the writers are wacky right now or something, it seems like the only one worrying about loosing the house right now is Conrad……everything else seems to be who’s Belly gonna pick and at this point I just don’t care anymore but I will defend her this one time: she did try and reach out to Jeremiah by calling or texting and he wouldn’t pick up, if you think I’m mistaken go back and watch the first 2 epis maybe 3 before Jere yells at her about it and see for your self……I’m team Conrad not team Bonrad anymore, I hope to goodness sake that both boys see what kinda of person she is being and takes off and leaves her high and dry…..I am referring to both Jeremiah and Conrad, they both deserve better….the writers have really made Belly out to be the villain ( so-to-speak) in this……she’s giving belly-flopping a whole new definition concerning these two boys this season, I don’t really recognize this as being the same writers from season 1……the only couple I relate to and are rooting for is Steven and Taylor

My opinion on the love triangle from someone who hasn’t read the books: jeremiah had every right to be mad at belly, he lost his mom too but she only cared about how Conrad felt bc she was so focused on her feelings for him and not how everyone else was feeling. I’m not sure if it was every said or not but Conrad didn’t like her when they were kids, or if he did he never showed it, he literally took belly to the pier to look at other girls…like wtf? But also yes belly has like Conrad for years and Jeremiah knew and shouldn’t have shot that firework at them but at the same time Conrad only started showing his feelings THIS YEAR, he had years to say something but he didn’t. Jeremiah has always been open about his feelings towards any person, friend or more. That’s why I like Jeremiah more. Conrad just causes too much drama for me, I don’t like how when something goes wrong he shuts everyone out as if they aren’t going through the same thing.

In the books and the show it is said that Conrad always included belly with the boys. Conrad probably did start liking belly that summer but so did Jere. Jere in the latest episode said he started liking belly that summer. Also I do agree jere was going through the same thing Conrad was but jere also isolated himself. Belly said she consistently texted jere but he would never answer so it isn’t fair for Jere to say belly wasn’t there when she tried to reach out but didn’t reply. Again I do feel for Jere but he decided not to reach out to belly or talk to his brother. Also both brothers have different coping mechanisms, yeah Conrad needs therapy because he becomes an asshole when sad but it doesn’t make what he went through any less traumatic.

in book 3 conrad says looking back he realises he’s always felt something for belly. and the whole girl at the boardwalk situation was just how belly saw it, in conrad’s pov in book 3 he says he had noticed belly staring at junior mint many times before so he made sure he won it for her. he spent 40 dollars trying to get it. he also once noticed her staring at a glass unicorn at the mall, so for her birthday he bought her the bigger version of it. he was the only one who included her in anything + told everyone else to stop teasing her.

I'm glad to see someone that agrees Jeremiah had a point at being upset and belly does need to be held accountable for certain things. Like yeah she was in love with conrad but she still knew that when she accepted to start a thing with Jeremiah and then instead of talking to him before going to conrad she went for it first. It's just messed up, especially for a best friend to do that and no matter how much Jeremiah knew about her feelings for Conrad, it still was her choice to start something with Jere, she didn't have to do that, she had the choice and she also had the consequences.

I get that but Belly still used him as a placeholder. She's not some random girl they both knew and had crushed on. Belly was Jere's best friend. Being used by someone you trust hits deeper than someone you just have a crush on. Was he wrong for ruining the kiss? Yes. Most definitely. But we can't blame him for his feelings and we can't blame him for feeling betrayed. It was shit what Belly did, not just because she did it, but because she was his best friend and he trusted her.

@@AthenaAthena yeah I just like to put myself in the shoes of characters. If I was Belly, I was probably just confused af and messed up. I would also probably hate myself for hurting my friend. If I was Jere, I’d feel betrayed. I’d beating myself up constantly saying that I should’ve known better and that I’d never live up to how she views my brother. I would feel like I can’t trust her anymore with my feelings and even more so can’t trust myself around her. Both probably going through very intense internal turmoil. Tbh now that I think about it, I don’t think this is really a blame type situation. I just don’t think he overreacted like some say. If someone you trust betrays you, I feel like you have the right to cut them out of your life. You have all the right in the world to be hurt and process the pain of that betrayal. Belly isn’t an awful person, she was just a confused teenage girl. I’m also curious if the Belly haters ever take a step back to think about what they would have done in her situation at that age. Because trust and believe I probably would have made the same dumb and wrong mistakes that she did

The more I watch the show and hear of the book, I am more team Conrad, he’s going through so much shit and get no credit for it. He’s been blame for a lot of shits when he’s just a poor teenager grieving his dead mother and sometimes he doesn’t know how the act and deal with things the best way he could and deep down he always cared so much about belly and he doesn’t know how to say shit but he’s trying and he just thinks that he will disappoint people around him but I just think that he’s doing good and he was a good boyfriend despite everything, some people doesn’t know how to tell what they feels but there is a lot in stake and many reasons for what they been struggling to be together. Conrad just have to realize that he has to get better for himself and that he can be better for belly. He asked for permission to his brother to finally be with the girl he always loved. Jeremiah for sure cared and loved belly but he has done so much shit that just gave me the ick, he should not be so jealous of Conrad, he is a very flirty person and spoiler alert ( no shit Jeremiah cheated on belly in Cabo) Conrad would never, he could not, he’s too in love with belly for that. I just think that belly had crossed the line many times and forgot about Jeremiah and blamed him for shit she’s done and him angry makes sense and his pain was valid and everything.
