Either Diligent was severely underestimating his opponent or there was some back alley deals set up cuz there's no way someone would make those pre-ban choices in that situation. Even the ban choices were iffy.

I love how people think there is an obvious solution to Kel’s team. When in reality, he has all the highest efficiency LD5 units (for cleave) in the game + all the elemental Nat5s. The only way to beat these comps is to steal their units, to rely on coin flip counter strategies, or just hope for some critical resistance checks.

During the semifinals and finals,all of kelianbao opponents looked like they were giving in,obviously kelian was using a combo cleave,but why wasn't his opponent using a team counter cleave? It was clear that maxim was a monster that had to be banned, but why wasn't he banned?

Diligent could have at least tried to separate the Maximilian+Nikki combo. Maybe ban Maxi, so enemy doesn't have defense break. Veronica+Nikki wouldn't have one-shot his team. Yes, sure, he would have been reset by Veronica, so when it's his turn to move he'd have fewer options, but he wouldn't have been dead! Maybe pick differently in the Pick-And-Ban phase: units with a 4th skill, where the reset wouldn't matter (Riley, etc.), or Jamire... , go for a slower team with Tianlang that still counters Ragdoll. Bottom line, Diligent should have tried something different in each round, but he didn't. He got cleaved by Maximilian+Nikki all 3 rounds. Facepalm.
