After a few matches and competing in tournament I’ve found that if you’re doing the new backlash combo and you’re off axis to the left there is a high chance the RFF f+3 will whiff so make sure you assess the situation before going in with U+3

Thanks for the great guide. I know the hitbox has been improved, but for some reason I’m still having trouble making the U3 consistently connect after backlash. Must need more practice with this combo.

Jeff Kincade it’s all about the dash in. The hit box got improved downwards so you want to be as close as possible to land the U+3. You have more time than you think, practice dashing in as far as you can and then go for the U+3

Max dmg for open stages for b3 launcher is actually RFF f3 b3 after the screw. Well.. it's only 1dmg more though, 74 instead of 73.

Actually on open stages you can get a double claymore on corkscrewed opponents for 75 damage

Slowkicks740 think of the dashes as a link rather than buffer. Practice the timing more.

B+3 , F+4, B+3, FF4, 3, 4, B+4, dash, flip stance(3+4), F+3, UF34+4 the hardest part would be the dash into flip stance you'll have to not press any movement button before flip stance and after your dash

@@jhp_trickyhypers5181 i just assume you mean the backlash combos Wall carry: Backlash, dash u3, 2, f3, 3f, 3f, uf3+4 Dmg: backlash, dash u3, 2, f3, uf3+4, 443 Also just look at the inputs because they're literally on the screen

I'm having trouble getting the RFF F+3 to pickup at the end of the U+3 combo, even on axis. Or on any combo, really, that F+3 seems to miss. Is there a trick I'm missing or am I just not doing it fast enough?

Detective Colonel I might make a video on this because it seems to be a common problem people have but you need to buffer the input so you can switch stance and do the RFF F3 fast enough

@@K-Wiss Yeah, I'm having a lot of trouble with it too. I'm holding 4 after doing the 3, 4, b+4 to buffer the 3+4 and then letting go of 4 and tapping 3 as soon as possible to try and get the RFF f+3 to come out instantly but I'm not sure if that's the right technique because the timing on it is super tight. I can only get it to work about once every 10-20 tries and on top of that the uf+3+4 afterwards only hits with the first hit instead of both hits connecting. If I do the full uf+3+4, 4 string then the first and third hits will connect but having to finish the string seems like it would be sub-optimal for trying to get wall combos afterward, though I'm honestly not sure about that.

Try dashing in faster/earlier. Backlash has faster recovery than it looks.

I'm really thankful you uploaded Season 3 Hwoarang! I've mained him since Tekken 5 and I still strive to get better at him!! Tysm man for this. Do you recommend buying a fighting stick pad? Do you have any recommendations for me? I play on PS4 and hope to get good enough at Hwoarang to play online one day

I recommend going with whatever you're most comfortable with. I use a PS4 pad myself and it's perfect for me so just use whatever you want and you'll be completely fine!

Hold forward during motion switch in the the b3 combo to get the RFF f3 to connect. If you get WR 4 then you waited to long to press 3+4. This is information that absolutely should have been in the video and would have saved me an hour of my life. Make better videos.
