Who doesn't know Bali, even just the name? Nobody! This is a particularly popular destination with more than five million foreign visitors in 2023, for an area only double that of Reunion Island, what a high density of tourists.
We traveled through Bali from the northwest, disembarking from the ferry from Java Island, which we had traveled by train.
Bali Bara National Park, our first stop, allowed us to take a beautiful hike on volcanic slopes with Komang, a certified guide. With Komang, I learned snorkeling, the site is almost too rich for a neophyte.
We continued with Lovina Beach, a small seaside resort on the north coast that is not very busy in this rainy season. The visit to Singaraja, another city on the coast, further east, did not excite us. On the other hand, the Buddhist temple Brahmavihara Arama, perched on the heights, was an intense moment of calm, simplicity and beauty.
Munduk was a high point of fusion with nature during two very beautiful hikes in the rice fields punctuated by beautiful encounters and refreshed by majestic waterfalls and beautiful tropical storms.
From Munduk, like everyone else, we got on a scooter that took us to the very pretty Bali Botanical Garden where we shared the visit with many and very communicative Indonesian tourists.
The Pura Ulun temple was really too busy with tourists poured out by buses from the south for the visit to be enjoyable. It's a shame, the legend is beautiful.
Ha, Ubud and its teleworkers, yes, they are there! The rice terraces too and they are very pleasant to walk along early in the morning.
The beaches of Sanur are pleasant when you look towards the ocean and the Jean Le Mayeur museum is worth the trip as is the Bali museum which was rich in documentation on the first peoples of Bali.
The Uluwata Temple, perched on its 70-meter cliff and symbolic of the meeting between heaven and earth.
Here we go! @marclegroux
