It's wonderful and fantastic to listen to the diverse views, memories and stories of the people who lived in District Six. I used to work in a clothing factory named Ensign as a machinist in District Six and also have fond but sad memories. This place was cosmopolitan and so diverse making it a interesting place to live and work. To listen to these South African people express themselves so well are so refreshing and I agree with the lady about the racism that scarred everyone. I can remember all those prejudices from everyone because we grew up in a racist and cruel political era and became the outcome and product of such a horrendous political time. Love, Peace and Harmony for the future. Marie Jonkers.

Yes that is so true about the colored people being very prejudiced .I experienced that back in the day when I was younger. So I told myself that my children must fall in love not in color. We must accept one another.

I think it’s because those issue still prevail. I’m waaay younger then him but have seen my darker coloured friends being discriminated against for being darker than daily members or having coarse hair etc
