Nascar needs to understand that their format needs to be looked at again as the 4 contenders for the title shud not be starting top 4. Every season since this format has seen the champ win the race mostly. The other drivers just part the sea and let them pass this isn't how it should be in my opinion...let all the drivers qualify at least for the final race and let the outcome be decided that way! PS I am a Chase Elliott fan so I don't want anyone to call me biased and if anyone has a different opinion of how it should go I can respect that also. For the record I was a huge Jeff Gordon fan but when Chase took over the 24 then the 9 here I am!

In 2003, Matt Kenseth only had 1 win but also was the NASCAR champion, while Ryan Newman had 8 victories that season. In 1996, Jeff Gordon had 10 wins and lost the championship to Terry Labonte who only had 2 wins. In 1961, Ned Jarrett only had one win and still won the championship over Junior Johnson who had 7 victories, and Joe Weatherly who had 9 victories. Regardless of the points rules, consistency is key, and so is driving your best in the biggest moments.
