Great episode! Your comment about The Big Bang Theory is similar to what I thought of the show. I once read an article that stated that all the jokes in that show were of the "laugh at me because I'm doing something nerdy" and not, " laugh with me because I'm doing something funny". It really changed how I saw the show. I couldn't watch it anymore.

Funny you mentioning "Gone in 60 Seconds"; as I just watched the HB Halicki original. You can really tell it was directed by a stunt driver as those were the best things in the movie. Also, that final car chase was an incredibly brave choice. While there were some other interesting ideas, they were not really explored, and sometimes instantly forgotten. It may seem weird, but I am kind of glad that it got remade.

Way back in the mid-1980s my roommate and I rented--on Betamax tape from an Erol's Video in Columbia, MD--an obscure indy film called, I'm fairly sure, 'Red Rock West'. I don't remember much about it other than the title and that it was a western with two protaganists in a wilderness and the plot may have been an allegory about same-sex attraction. I have wanted to see it again for a long time, or at least find out more about it, but by the time the internet was developed enough to search for info, the Nicolas Cage film was already current, and completely overwhelmed any trace of the earlier film. It's not in IMDb or the Library of Congress, and I have no idea who directed or acted in it. Titles aren't subject to copyright and can be freely reused, so I'm left with asking old folks if they remember ever seeing anything about it.

The mention of Dr. Doolittle being too long for the show makes me long for some sort of double-length special episode where they watch a really long movie or even a movie and it's sequel. Maybe as a series finale whenever that happens? Or for the end of season 10? Unfortunately, you'd be hard-pressed to justify the massive increase in production time for such an episode.
