I did notice that you mounted the AIO CPU cooler in the top - would putting it in the front have made a difference? Nice build. Asrock's high-end b550s are so nice, especially the dark blue on the Extreme4. Sleeved cables aren't that expensive, especially if you're building something that requires a 750 Watt PSU. You can get decent extensions for maybe 30-35 Pounds? Still better than flat licorice cables if you ask me. If you decide not to use the synchro you can route the sleeved cables to pass in front of the little window in the back panel :) Also, do I see a slightly deeper tray for the top panel dust filter? I'd like that, but it doesn't show on the prototype and it's hard to see whether it's there on the new version.

I get the feeling its meant to be an air cooling case, a big air cooler on the CPU and no fans in the roof I would guess would be a good setup for it. Or even moving some of the intake fans to the roof would be interesting as it is filtered, would make for some interesting thermal testing.

I'd be interested to see if the fella at GGF Events (sorry can't recall name right now) does a build with custom cables and water cooling, might show it in an ever more fairer light. Also, never really been sold on the inverted motherboard, but all in all, its a decent looking case, hope they manage to sell some to encourage them to do a revisit and/or evolve the idea.

@AxR5583 жыл бұрын
As much as I like the case (although I'd prefer it to not be inverted) I can't help but think that the connect itself is a solution looking for a problem, and this version of the connect module is restricted to this case only due to the front facing connectors needing cutouts. Also, could they not have just put the PSU connector on the other end of the connect unit and had this case as a normal motherboard orientation? I get the idea behind the intel 12vatx standard and only needing to run one cable from the PSU to the motherboard but effectively splitting a PSU into two units that need space for them seems a bit of a strange step as the only cables that are really much shorter seem to be the 24pin and PCIe supplemental power. Finally, the price... It's a nice case but to pay almost twice as much as another decent case and PSU for this would make a straight up non starter for me.

Thank you, Leo. That's a lot of ackers to spend to view a PC build 'upside down'! @billwiley72163 жыл бұрын
Very few current builds include optical drives anymore so that does not affect most people considering this case. Actually I think the heat off the CPU hitting the graphics card is less of a problem than the heat generated by current top GPU's hitting the CPU in a conventional MB layout. Basically the price point and it less optimal overall cooling as compared to other leading manufacturer case offerings with more features at a much lesser price point is more of the issue. I like the concept of the power supply distribution with shorter cables but right now it does not seem ready for prime time from a performance or being at a competitive price point as compared to other options. With some GPU's now requiring 3 separate power connectors I can see the distribution box cable option possibly becoming more popular in the future. I do like the quality of Seasonic power supplies and they are all I have used for the last 20 years.

For me the main point of reverted ATX is the GPU exhausting hot air towards the top, following the laws of physics, instead of spilling hot air everywhere inside the case and messing up every other airflow going on. Ofc that implies you have a GPU with fans exhausting air instead of pushing it in the GPU fins... which it turns out mine does 🤡 Also I don't know why but the fans that came with mine are terribly noisy even tho every single reviews says they are supposedly good ones. Terrible grating jet engine noise at any % PWM and oscillations even at 12% PWM, really no way to shut them up. I'm in the process of swapping them for 140mm noctuas.
