I'm no expert, but. I'm gonna say, Yep, you did that absolutely spot-on perfectly correctly. I know this because, even though I don't actually own a Balckstone, I'm reminded of a video we watched a few years ago where this, uh, clueless person did just about everything wrong. His Blackstone looked to me like it didn't last very long at all. He did, however, provide many hours of intense laughter (most of his videos did, and not in a complimentary way). Can't wait for your maiden voyage with the Blackstone. I'll be watching it and reminding Mrs. SG what a great investment a new toy for ol' Mr SG guy would be!

And if its hot, use tongs with the cloth. The grill rag is like the grill, gets better with age. When it gets bad just toss it and get another. Walmart sells cheap white facecloths which are perfect for the job :)

I don’t have a Blackstone or any other flat top griddle. I do have a discada made of carbon steel, as well as other carbon steel and cast iron cookware. I can’t imagine that seasoning that griddle would be any different than seasoning other carbon steel and cast iron cookware. That 28” looks like a good size. If I ever did get one that would likely be the size I get. I enjoyed the video.

Very nice new griddle you got there, Sal. No worries, you seasoned that perfectly, and you looked like you knew what you were doing. Yeah.....Sparkle and Viva paper towels were happy for your new grill today! Look forward to many good foods coming off that baby! A big step-change from grilling and barbecuing, ey? What's your first plan for cooking? My two cents request, if I may: Big diameter, fat ass (85/15 Beef) hefty hamburgers with grilled onions (sweet yellows, please) and thick slices of tomato with salt on them. Nuthin' else 'cept a bit of yellow mustard (Koops, please) a smidge of ketchup and a hearty bun without those stupid sesame seeds. Rock On, Brother!

How do you get it to turn on? Nobody has made a single video showing how to turn on a blackstone without an ignition button.
@rootboycooks7 ай бұрын
When you turn the knob on it has a "Click" sound that triggers the igniter. Kind of crappy,mine stopped working so now I use a BBQ lighter.

@rootboycooks Жыл бұрын
The 28 inch model does not have a battery. The larger ones with the seperate button have a AA battery in the button. The 28 inch has a piezo ignitor, just turn and click. If it's not working check the distance between the ignitor wire and the burner bar. Hope that helps!
