we played 3 songs that night we never got round to recording. actually we did record one of the songs when we started the northern picture library, though it never got released. this song was provisionally called " quiet and loud " errr because it has quiet bits and loud bits. shoegazers.....lol. i dont think i owned a pair of shoes the whole time i was in the band.

Thank you for uploading. Only now discovering The Field Mice in May 2020, during the 'lockdown' in England during global coronavirus pandemic. Great track. My (frazzled) brain drifts off to Cocteau Twins, Breeders. It was probably luck they didn't find stardom back in the day as stardom seems to make everybody act shitty and feel shit. I was in Bison Tribe and we were not famous either but I'm glad we tried when we did. What a lark! Talking of Larks, does anybody remember a London band in early 80s called The Larks? I always loved "She said she's an all or nothing girl". Suzi-Q x

there are a couple of songs missing. the other new one is one of them. and pretty sure the gig ended with " end of the affair" after which michael walked to the microphone and said "the end" which was pretty appropriate. and that was the last time the five of us were ever in the same building at the same time again.

Probably over a decade ago now, The Drums posted a video where they were playing a college campus and to fill the whole time slot they danced around to "Let's Kiss and Make Up" at the end of their show. It was hilarious. Thank you Jonny Pierce for showing me this great band.

Wow - loving all the feedback. I have the worst memory in the world yet I can remember that gig perfectly - 20 years ago and here it is still getting the attention it deserves. The quiet & loud song (I always called it the fast & slow song!) was also my fav. I am thrilled that I videoed it and that people can get to see and hear it now. As we speak I am firing up my old computer to check for any missing bits. Does anyone know the new upload limit for KZbin? Maybe I could upload the whole gig.

What a gem! I'm almost 50, started going to gigs around 1991 and there's a lot of blurry (or almost completely gone) memories about those old underground concerts, I would love to see some videos of those gigs but they don't exist! Big cheers from Brazil! ❤

Crazy - but the only thing stopping me from putting the whole show up is that I no longer have a working VHS player! I will get one. "The End" was a sad moment! I also have quite a few nice field mice photos, when i get a minute i will set up some sort of gallery.

i've listened to it so much at this point i don't even know if a studio version could have done justice to that song. seeing it recorded that way feels like a time capsule like we are part of something almost confidential

@SeasonRecords The upload limit depends...it starts off as 10 minute videos. I've had a lot of views on some of my videos so they increased it to 15 minutes. I think it goes up to 30 for normal viewers.

@MrChipfireball They're shoegazers. It's what they do. Did you actually listen to the music? It's depressed twangy ass indie rock. What are they supposed to do, the pogo?
@MrChipfireball14 жыл бұрын
man alive ! the body language of this band is terrible.if you look closely, the guitarist has a suicide note he prepared in advance in his back pocket. its like they have been forced at gunpoint to play. mmmmmarvellous !
@daledillard32815 жыл бұрын
It's called egoless and that's why they're great. Ego kills creativity and makes fools out of people. So nice to see a and not posing and showing off. Live music is just that. Music. Who cares what the band looks like? I once saw an entire Phil show where they played behind a sheet. Brilliant.
