Seat Ibiza - Cordoba 6L 1.4 cc BBZ VAG engine - How to remove and replace thermostat

Once a while it is happening to every car.
The thermostat fails.
This is the replacement on a Volkswagen - Audi 1.4cc engine with
the code number BBZ which can be seen in a lot of models.
The Ibiza,Cordoba,Fabia,Polo,Golf etc of the mid 20`s could have this engine that produced 101hp.

Hello, off topic question, i got myself an ibiza 1.4 16v 74kw and for the life of me i cannot seem to find the right air filter box for it. The one it came with wasnt the right diameter where it connects with the throttle body. Could you perhaps provide me with a link where i could get the same filter box as you do? Any help would he appreciated:)

Hi there Those cars belong to the Volkswagen Audi group (VAG). There for they have a folkswagen engine.You need to find the code of your engine on the car license (mine is BBZ for example ). Once you got it simply type on Google < BBZ engine air filter> and i`m sure you wil get a lot of options to choose from. Hope this was helpfull. 🏁🙂✌

Can I ask what symptoms you saw to make you replace this? I have a Seat Ibiza overheating, but both radiator hoses are getting hot and the fan isn't working .. I would think it would cool enough whilst driving without the fan so suspect this next, but a bit confused both hoses are so hot .. thanks for the video, not seen another on this engine.

Hello 🙂 My car douldn`t get the temperature up and had always around 70C. This means that the thermostat stuck open. In your case the thermostat stuck closed and the radiator coolant liquid doesn`t flow through the system. Do not drive the car while overheating because it could damage your engine head gasket. The repair could get out of control.Replace your thermostat immediately and keep an eye on your fan too. The fan and the thermostat are responsible to keep the engine temperature around the 90C area. I hope to help you out and not be to late to save this ``KILLER`` engine your IBIZA is equipped!! 😉✌

Good video! I would like tot chancge the coolant instead. How much L of coolant do i need? Also for a 1.4 16v bbz block, but in a ibiza.

Thank you very much sir!🙂If the system is completely empty it should require 5.5Litres...BUT...there is no way that all the pipes and the tunnels around the engine will be completely empty(unless you find a way to drain it)🤗I believe that around 4Litres of coolant can be changed!😀☝
