Seattle Coffee’s Peter Howie on brewing a successful coffee business

Peter Howie brought Seattle Coffee to South Africa in 1997 and has run this family owned business with his childhood friend and business partner Barry Parker. Over the last 22 years they have turned Seattle Coffee into a much loved South African brand and strategic partnerships with Exclusive Books and Food Lover’s Markets have secured their place as a leading coffee brand in a highly competitive environment. CNBC Africa reporter Kopano Gumbi sat down with Peter.

I see a new trend in south africa which i think was importet with seattle the little habit of having the customer contribute to your staffs salaries and if we dont we get looks they are behind the counter doing salaried work please im not payimg for my coffee and your staff
