I wouldn't dismiss the Bears too easily; they've been pretty inconsistent but they've shown up and almost beat some really good teams.

The scenario we should be most concerned about: we beat the Bears and Rams but lose the tiebreaker with the Rams at 10-7. In that scenario the Rams go 3-1 (loss to us) and we go 2-2 (Bears + Rams win is most likely). That has us splitting with them, even in division record, even in common games, so it comes down to Strength of Victory (the W-L % of just the teams you have beaten). To win on SoV in this scenario, we need the Cards/Broncos/Falcons/Dolphins/Bears to win as many games as possible and the 49ers/Raiders/Saints/Bills/Vikings to lose as many games as possible. Where we sit currently our wins are at a 4 game disadvantage over their wins. If you pick up a Packers or Vikings win instead and lose to the Bears you get a slight lead. The schedule for our wins is slightly favorable so it is possible to gain back enough ground, the biggest problem is the Bears could lose out. Thankfully we secured our tiebreak against the Cards and if the 49ers turn a corner and win out we still can win the Rams game to secure a tiebreak on them (though we do lose the tiebreak with a loss to the Rams). *edit* Also the Buccs have already secured a tiebreak on us, 3 of their losses came out of conference (we only lost 1). If they match our wins they will have a better conference record guaranteed.

If the 49ers win on Thursday I wouldn’t be upset about losing Sunday

Buffalo losing really hurts. However, if the niners win on Thursday then we would clinch the tiebreaker vs the Rams with a win in week 18 which is huge. I think even 3 and 4 team tiebreakers for the division would pretty much automatically go in our favor at 4-2 in the division.

Why? I think both Sam darnold and Jordan love are gonna get shaken up by our D. Our offense just has to keep getting better and we’ll win both games. I’m more concerned about the rams than I am the Vikings.
