bogg54 not sure what’s to learn from the “crew”. Climber? Yes. Crane operator? Yes.
@briankennedy13136 жыл бұрын
EauClairePowerWashing yeah since that’s not what happened. Might want to check yourself on the stupid comment.
@briankennedy13136 жыл бұрын
It’s like saying how much you can learn from power washing. You put brush in the chipper, it chips. You spray water, it cleans.
@briankennedy13136 жыл бұрын
Each and every other person mentioned the climber and crane operator specifically. Like everyone else always does. Running chainsaws and chipping brush is as mindless and DUMB as power washing. Stick to what YOU know; detergents and spray wands. It must have been really important to include power washing in your name. Now we all know you’re a real workin man.
@briankennedy13136 жыл бұрын
You lead with direct insults then call me insecure? In tree care there are really two crews. Ground crew, and the people doing the dangerous jobs requiring talent. If you stay on the ground you might as well be running a power washer all day. There is nothing to be said about ground crew.

Fine work indeed , one question / concern , why did the climber abandon his lifeline after a certain point relying solely on his sidestrop , 2 tie in points especially on a job like that would have been crucial I would have thought ?
@BoomerElite4u5 жыл бұрын
Most people don't use tie in points when topping out trees because your tie in point would have to be below you and is just a waste of time.
@bryanmiller8435 жыл бұрын
richie1014 I thought the same, maybe because he had to cut n turn around the tree idk
@bbigrocker15 жыл бұрын
@@bryanmiller843 roconddohoe answered the question...
@travelguy89045 жыл бұрын
Cause the second line could no longer be tied to top of trunk as it was being cut off. Lots of guys don’t use a second line just a sidestrop or 2
@KennysTreeRemoval4 жыл бұрын
Hi Richie, hope I can answer this for you based on my knowledge of doing tree work and being a climber myself for years running my own company. The gentleman cutting the tree in this video I will assume is the lead climber also the owner of the company. I agree with you on having at least 2 tie in points ideally you want 3, now once he was no longer tie in to the top the tree it leaves him with a few options, one is chocking his life line to the trunk as srt or with a friction saver as drt, but good luck finding a friction saver that would fit the diameter of that tree. You can also use two lanyards as two tie in points as you see this climber did later in the video. Hope this answered your question.

Very well done!, climber has some experience in craning out tree's but could use a couple of pointer's such as switch to a bigger saw before getting into much larger dia. wood. Also always start your cuts on the same side as the choker is anchored, you did that on most but I think you were off a bit on a couple cuts. Last tip is on the bigger cuts I many times will unclip my saw lanyard and rig it directly to the tree just encase the saw get's pinched and you need to move out of the way for whatever reason quickly, if the saw get's pinched and it is connected to your harness your not going anywhere very quick or maybe not quick enough.

Unmatched skill level on this one! No way, I would have attempted this job. We have those big "piss' elms here in the midwest. Just like the one you took down, they were planted up and down streets that were small, and the infrastructure was tight. The LOS (Line of Sight) wiring here was showing, and man, it would have taken all the power out of the block if one of those logs hit it. Great to watch this video!

Seemingly the climber and most of the crew do not feel eye protection is part of their PPE. Who needs fully functioning eyes anyway?! It also seems that the climber only needs one point of attachment when cutting big wood. I guess it does take so much time to have that second line set up as a back up in case of cutting through your lanyard.
