I remember when the Wildrose opened. The other lesbian bars in Seattle at that time were Sappho’s and Eastlake East. I think there was also one in Pioneer Square.

It's the only lesbian bar now, but it's certainly not the only lesbian bar in Seattle history!

My mom was friends with both Shelley and Martha. I spent my early childhood drinking Virgin Shirley Temples and playing the games they had that I had access to. My brother and I loved going to the Wildrose. I absolutely plan to visit again. I miss it so much.

She's not lying upstate NY is still mostly middle class but we have become more gay friendly and open! I have never been to wild rose but it is on my list to visit

I started going there shortly after they opened! Sometimes in the summer I would bring my black lab, Maddie, and she would hang right outside the front door. Those were the days! Unfortunately I haven't been there in quite some time...
