Sadly, they only agreed to stop the breeding program and no longer take in new orcas. Tragically, some of the remaining orcas could live another 25 years in this inhumane captivity. Hope this sheds light on your question. Probably not the answer you were hoping for.

And remember that if these orcas were released, they would die a lonely death. They were raised in captivity and gave no idea how to hunt or speak to other orcas in the wild. The same thing happened to Keiko.
