Amazing wall of sound guitar from one guitarist -- seamless transitions from power rhythm guitar to lead and back.
Audio mix near perfect -- not turned up deafeningly loud to make the headliner sound 'better." Loud but with almost no clipping distortion -- beautiful tight snap to the kick drums, glorious loud but tight bass. Consistent with my hypothesis that fully 50% of great live audio mixing is simply keeping every part of the signal chain below clipping distortion levels. The other 50% is the obvious mix of instruments. I think the sound guy's name is Eddie?
And actual front lighting! Though woulda been nice to have more, even lighting, this is way better than several previous no-front-light events.
Didn't include
5/14 18 and Life
* just too much off-pitch vocal, too much rasp on the highs
* boring, rambling extended beginning
* obstruction -- one tall guy compounded his obstruction by constantly extending his gibbon proportion wingspan arms over his head
11/14 Monkey Business -- also something of a boring extended version
And this time TWO magnum view-blockers I had the misfortune of being behind.
Waving both arms -- fully extended -- and flashing horns signs constantly, blocking the view --apparently believing this will earn them special credit from Sebastian -- or something?
Both also wearing billed caps -- futhering the obstructed area
Most talk -- summary: rambling about Frankie Valli, AI sucks because of one implementation on a painting of his dad, remembering various dead rock stars. Woulda been great to get another song or two in place of this
Almost Spinal Tap levels of overzealous smoke machine use -- often killing the resolution of the view
This also degraded the presentation of the previous bands Faster Pussycat and Powerman 5000
