Hi Kay - I'm just getting around to making this scarecrow this year and was trying to figure out how to make him have a finished fabric backside. It may take a bit of thinking and planning. If it turns out, I'll let you know. Thanks so much! Your videos are the absolute best!

You have done it again! A wonderful SAL. I love this Scarecrow. He is so adorable. I have to make one, only a big one for my front door, for the fall -- if we get fall! We have been under a heat wave since late Spring, and we are tired of it! My puppies will love the fall when they can get out a lot. :) Also, a question, if we should accidentally cut the stitches when trimming, is the only alternative to redo that entire part? Thanks!
@KaysCutz2 жыл бұрын
If you accidentally cut the stitches and the fabric isnt damaged and hasn't moved and you have zigzagging or satin stitching going over the top afterwards you can generally just get away with continuing on and the next round of stitching will cover it but there are a couply of options, another option is to put some cellotape over it if you are worried and just let your machine stitch through it and pull it off at the end after the satin stitching has finished. If you cut it where a join will be then leave it alone dont pull it about ste it on the table until you come to adding it to your current hooping and then make sure that you position it so that the zigzag stitching will cover over it. Normally it isnt a big deal unless your fabric frays a lot. In that case use some fray check on the stitches and fabric where the stitches were to stop it from forming a hole. I think I might do a tips and tricks video for unfortunate mishaps showing how to deal with them. I am still recovering from surgery at the moment so video production is slower at the moment. Sebastian will look fabrulous on your door. I am stuck in a heatwave too and it is unbearable some days so I empathize with you. I will be glad to see winter this year.

I love the scarecrow! Is it possible to use tear away stabilizer instead of WSS? Thanks
@KaysCutz2 жыл бұрын
Hi Michelle, no it has to be WS because of the amount of satin stitching it will just tear through it and will leave little fibres poking through the satin stich borders. It is always best to use the recommended stabilizer for optimum results. I hope this helps you.

It looks awesome but could we put material on the back to make it reversible.
@KaysCutz2 жыл бұрын
You sure can just do the same back and front and he will be completely reversable but dont put any wool on the back of the hoop as it could cause problems. 😊
