Thank you SO much for this! What an absolutely gorgeous panel. He said so many beautiful and wise things. Some of these questions and comments must be quite overwhelming or maybe things he’s answered before but he really puts thought into his answers. He seems so sure of himself and his thoughts and is always learning about himself and the world and it’s really inspiring to see how passionately he communicates these things to people who want to listen and learn too. Really gorgeous, lovely man. So pleased he came up north. I pushed against my agoraphobia and anxiety the most I’ve done in years (at my worst I could barely be outside of my bedroom let alone my house) to come to see him on Sunday. It may seem dumb but whatever motivates you and makes you happy, if it’s not hurting anyone else, you go for it. I found it really really tough and have felt pretty rough since getting home but I’m so glad I did it, and watching him be such a kind and inspiring person makes it feel even more worth it because he deserves the effort. Thank you again❤

Steve definitely abandoned Bucky at the end of Endgame, but I like how Seb tried to be sweet about it and justify Steve's decision..
@newcamomile2 ай бұрын
Why do you think you know Bucky better than the actor playing him? Bucky isn't a child, he wasn't abandoned just because Steve decided on a different life. "Til the end of the line" isn't literal, it's a metaphor. Do you know what a metaphor is?

@@newcamomile If you watched all of the MCU up until Endgame, you would know that what Steve Rogers did at the end was very out of character and kind of ruined his character arc, even if you take his bff Bucky out of the picture..

Can we like....stop telling actors etc in public that they stopped you from committing suicide? That's such a huge amount of pressure to put on someone for just doing their job (since acting is their job). It's also a really heavy thing to bring up in public especially when the actor wasn't expecting such a question. That is something that should be between you and your therapist.

@@newcamomile I think the person just wanted to say thank you. It was actually a beautiful moment. Everyone hugged the person and Sebastian seemed genuinely touched by it. 🤷♀️

@@irregularvoice9642 I totally appreciate that it was done with good intentions, and also that Sebastian responded incredibly graciously. But as fans we still have a responsibility to remember that the people who play our favourite characters are strangers, and not saying something to them that you wouldn't say to a stranger is a basic form of courtesy. Telling a stranger that they're the reason you didn't commit suicide (like not just "Bucky gave me a lot of inner strength" for eg) is SO much to spring on a person without warning. I'm not trying to shame the person who asked the question and sorry if it sounds like that. But enabling a parasocial relationship is something we as fans should be discouraging. Just because a parasocial relationship isn't based on attraction or having a crush doesn't make it less parasocial or less harmful.

I totally understand where you’re coming from, but I think in this case specifically it is ok to say thank you to someone and that their work and their art has been so important in some way. Sebastian is smart I’m sure he knows there’s a lot of complexities to that statement and it’s not someone saying “please never stop acting or I’ll be in a really bad place” or something of ridiculous pressure like that. I understand the point about parasocial relationships but I don’t see that too much here. She’s not claiming she knows him or trying to influence his life in any way, or like..saying “I was about to do it and then I imagined you sitting next to me and telling me not to” or something just a little bit too personal to put out there. They’re just saying the choices he has made…in his outwardly public and entertaining job and appearances have meant a lot and been something to relate to and hold on to. They mentioned Bucky too not just him. I imagine it probably is overwhelming and I totally get that point and I know you’re not having a go at anyone individually and maybe at the autograph table is better than in front of an audience but…that was a lot more expensive 😂 and they might not get another chance. If someone told an author that their writing and their story saved them in a dark place then would that seem as wrong to you? I feel that’s pretty similar. It is heavy, but I think on the flip side it is nice to show that you can get through these feelings and being a fan of something or someone in a way that is not harming anyone and is bringing you strength and joy..is nothing to be ashamed of! Plus his response was truly beautiful what a gorgeous thing to say to someone and he seemed very passionate about conveying his feelings! I agree with the sentiment you’re saying though and you’re right it is their job. But their job is also art and about expression and reaching and connecting to people so I think that kind of feedback is not as wild.
