@@sisserou7871 Yeah man really high quality video here, can't imagine how long it took to edit. I think newer F1 fans don't have an idea of how many teams were fighting for the wins before mercedes domination. That type of excitement was something new f1 fans don't even know about, so a video just about going through an exciting season in detail, kind of DTS type would be awesome. Great work man

He came in a team which changed even before he came. The team that hired him wasn't the same when he joined. This guy is a legend. He won in 2015 when Mercedes was around their peak in dominance when other hybrid engines were far from anywhere near catching up. He won in second race for Ferrari - in days when it was not imaginable. He carried the inferior 2017 car to being title contender - opposite of the favorite opinion that the 2017 was stronger. That is complete nonsense. It was not until 2018 when it was the first time that Mercedes lost pole position on a track that suited them and in normal conditions. Till 2018, no one had any chance fighting them. Vettel did. 2018 Vettel failed to the pressure on him from multiple sides. Marchioni death. Baku accident the year before, and showing weakness which strongly affected him. Pressure from Ferrari principals. Arrivabene saying on one occassion that "he needs to drive only and leave the rest to the team". The situation in Ferrari was changing. He did not had the support Schumacher had, nor he had the people to create the team Schumacher did - which I prayed and hoped ever since Vettel made debut , that one day too he will replicate what his, and mine, idol did. Sadly that never happened. Long story short - he never has had the support, the one for example Hamilton has had in Mercedes. Vettel only had advantage in 50-50 situations while Hamilton had advantage over Bottas in every situation. I cannot now mention every race where little subtle pieces were falling into Mercedes favor. Monza '18 start, Kimi locking up into T1 fighting for P1? While his teammate fights for title? Where was Ferrari management then? There were too many. Bottas was often used as blockage on road to give Hamilton the required 1-2 seconds to make undercut. Vettel had that when Ferrari had strong races, or when Vettel was evidently quicker. Never in close situations. Vettel in the end logically started making mistakes. But so did Ferrari equally. They messed up the car development in Singapore. Everyone thought Vettel should win the pole and the lap of Hamilton is one of the greatest ever - false. Hamilton had dominant car and that lap in all honesty wasn't anything special. It was the norm - for me, and for those who understand the things at deeper level. The inevitable in the end happened. Mercedes dominanted in the end the 2018 season again. Winning the war not on the track, but in the factory and in the strategies. That is a fact. Whoever has ever said that Vettel threw away the season, is simply wrong. You don't win 4 titles because you are no good under pressure, for 2 out of 4 titles that Vettel won, were won under pressure which Hamilton for one has never experienced. You cannot not drive well under pressure where 2 out of 4 titles are won after you fought back from last to place into big points of podiums. Or drive for pole when it matters most - Abu Dhabi 2010 - and go on to win without a slight mistake till the end. Haters will hate. But in my book, he is one of the greatest ever and without a single doubt, wasn't for Mercedes, undisputably the best driver in the past 15 years. Not always the quickest, but ruthless when you have to be ruthless. Pure old school racer. F1 passionate. Super quick and literally unbeatable when he has the car under him. However you cannot blame one for not delivering when you don't simply have the clues how to work around a certain car without support of a team. That has happened to both Alonso and Hamilton respectively. I will say one thing I always say: If Vettel was driving that Mercedes, F1 was going to be far more boring than it is today. If he won 9 races in row with a car his teammate has won zero, imagine what and how many he would've won in this Mercedes.

well said. this sums up everything to all the new and old fans, to martin biased brundle, who say seb won 4 years straight because of just the car. That seems more the case with hamilton all these 7 years.

The British Media piss me off with how much they underrate and slate Vettel. He would have been a deserving champion in 2017, but lost out mainly due to the development race, a slower PU than Mercedes and a few niggles with his car here and there towards the end of the season. The races where Hamilton was nowhere, Bottas stepped up and won with Seb right on his tail - Austria, Russia for example. Mercedes also massively held Seb up in Barcelona by not pitting Bottas so Hamilton could catch up. Not to mention Canada where Seb was in a class of his own and probably would have won if it was not for Verstappen running over his front wing. Hamilton didn’t have these problems in 2017 and was supported more by his team mate. Raikkonen was generally nowhere for Seb. The non glued up fans just think Seb spins all the time but I always felt he had to push a slower car harder to try and make up for the deficit to Mercedes. He was their only challenger between 2015 and 2018 and still managed to beat Bottas and almost Rosberg in 2015.

As a Hamilton fan, there is no doubt that Seb is one of the greats. He was the only one who was able to challenge Hamilton and had it not been for the numerous occasions in 2017 when he got unlucky with reliability and crashes, the championship might’ve very well gone to the final race. He deserved that championship and I actually feel bad for him not getting it, considering what happened in 18 and 19. I used to hate him during his Red Bull days but his Ferrari years have completely changed my view of him. I hate all the undeserved slander about him from the fanbase. In all honesty, the F1 fanbase and community have taken a turn for the worse with all these new fans coming in in recent times. They are extremely opinionated which eventually turn them into haters. I don’t understand why people can’t just like their favorite driver, respect others’ opinions and just enjoy the sport. All of these Hamilton, Vettel, and Verstappen haters ruin it for everyone else and make everything toxic. Anyway, I hope Seb can continue his current run of great form, because he deserved this after what Ferrari did to him.

@paper plane I wouldn’t put Vettel ahead of Rosberg in the championship to show his greatness simply because Rosberg had a ridiculous amount of reliability issues whilst Vettel had virtually none. Mattiachi out of RBR, undermining alonso's contract negotiations at the time, semi boxing him out of other options, with the assumption that HE would turn it all around, obviously Fernando was the problem.. as Ferrari mgmt. also determined, god forbid they ever accurately acknowledge their own cars deficiencies.. ..And 5 years later it was sad but completely expected to see another multi champion unable to get the Ferrari train back on the tracks and performing up to their ridiculous potential and taking advantage of their general sporting advantage overall.... The smug little douche, ate the big red Ferrari bag o' dicks just like Alonso had to and got no where in a similar 5 years despite his best efforts & despite his semi panderous (sic) italian, ranting, chanting, & singing post race . That 2018 season still hurts. So sad he didn't make it. He lost confidence but he was also FUCKING unlucky...He was driving on par with Hamilton that year in my opinion. Wishing him the best for the new season in Aston Martin. He'll show what he's capable of this year. Also, not saying anything about Hamilton, he's a super driver (and very nice the words he says about Seb in the interview). But this absolute lack of competition from anyone else is embarrassing for the sport. He wasn't so dominant when he had good cars against him, as proved in 2017 and 2018 at the start of the season.

There for 6 seasons but Ferrari only gave him a title challenging car for 2 of them. And in those 2 seasons they lost massively the development race to Mercedes so had no chance, he was doomed from the start as Ferrari always fail their drivers yet never take the blame for themselves. Alonso, Massa, Vettel and Leclerc and Sainz will be next. Vettel was just unlucky as Mercedes are just far too dominant in this era, f1 is failing.

I'am sorry but you're mostly wrong. Vettel had championships winning cars in 2017 and 2018. Ultimately he wasn't able to keep up with Lewis. Schumacher had to drive 4 seasons for Ferrari before he got to win a championship with them so what you said doesn't really make sense. I do agree on F1 failing though....They are not doing enough to make things exhiting and stop Mercedes dominance

@@giuseppemaggio5894 but you have to agree Mercedes is true dominant in hybrid, vettel almost done everything to catch them. If you want example just watch camel straight fight in 2017. Mercedes unlock engine potential in second half. They done the same and turned their engine in full mode in 2018. I will not blame Mercedes, its fia and their officials duty to examine to how dethroned them.

For only 46,000 views, the production of this is absolutely phenomenal. The start of the V6 era marked his downfall, but if he sticks around until the 2022 regs, I'm sure his experience can adapt him much faster than other drivers. He's still young, and I'm sure his fight will return to him when he can start challenging for podiums and wins again. It'll just take AMR to pull it out of him. I just hope that in the same way that Ferrari obviously had the favourite child in Leclerc, that AMR doesn't sideline him for Stroll. Bravo on the video.

Very well done mate. Incredible how much has changed, how well the season of 2018 has begun for him and how the following years evolved. It seems obvoius that that one fail in Hockenheim and the lack of support from the team really worked on this man. He could have had at least one Ferrari title.

I’m glad that I finally had the time to watch your movie. It’s still heartbreaking to see how his enthusiasm from 15-18 just went downhill more and more. He wasn’t as comfortable or happy as he once was. And I think he never will be anymore unless he has a car with he can fight for wins. I still don’t understand why his Ferrari spun sometimes at the slightest touch. I won’t ever understand them and they still hurt to see. He was and will always be my hero

Of course there were moments when Sed let his emotions get the best of him , but there were so many more things that happened that prevented him getting more wins. I don't know what to think, if all theories are true, but since Binotto is team boss, Seb really seems to be set aside in the team. Horrible behavior from Ferrari. I really love Seb and wish all the best to him! I would love nothing more than him finally getting his 5th title.

Seeing this man fall from grace in the way he did is truly heartbreaking, He just wasn't the same after the Germany crash in 2018 and then desperation kicked in and he went completely off the rails. Aston Martin did give us some hope that he was slowly starting to be happy again but 2022 really wasn't good to the point where he finally hung up the car keys and helmet. He will always be a national treasure to us Tifosi and we will miss him very very very much.

So we can see him around the paddock and in interviews. Smiling again. And ultimately if nothing else, just loving the drive. I'm so grateful. To have been there for all the drivers i have witnessed. Living that dream. ❤

Thank you for the great documentation. I don't want to deny Hamilton's performance here, he's a great driver, but I would like to mention Michael, Max and Sebastian in particular. In contrast to Michael Schuhmacher or Max Verstappen, Sebastian Vettel was always a fair driver, while Max and Michael posed a great danger to the rest of the field due to their risky driving style. Sebastian has my absolute respect, because it shows that fighting spirit, fairness and sportiness are definitely compatible. For me, he was always the most likeable driver in the field. Thank you Sebastian and good luck in your "new life"!

no leadership on ferrari and no confidence in vettel aferall, that´s waht happen, and after marchionne dies it´s all lose and finish for sebastian, the begining of the end was in germany 2018. You've done a great job! This documentary serves me, and probably some others, as a remembrance of Seb's journey at Ferrari and that everything has an explanation. I think he's ended up burned out by his expectations, the pressure upon his shoulders (he was called to overcome the deceptions from previous years) and the team's mistakes. Now is hard to tell if he'll be able to come back, but what he did in his best years shouldn't be forgotten.
