Tortelli was the top rider in the GP's over in Europe, dethroning the legend Stefan Everts before he came to the US. Was at this race ! I have never in all my years in the sport, have seen any performance like this ! He was on another level. Not even James Stewart's incredible come from behind performances were like this ! He was doing things in the section of the track l was at that were just amazing ! 😮

I remember wrenching for a French rider in France for the French championship 1995 seeing this phenomenon Tortelli on his KX 125 with black oxbow gear absolutely demoralising his competition including up and coming David vuilliman. Yves de Maria was the man on 250s on his black Yamaha yet sebastians lap times were quicker. Super smooth and effortless style like Bailey and lechien but far more aggressive. Always gob smacked and mesmerised watching ST ride with this Glen Helen performance the same kid I remembered showing his absolute raw speed . Definitely the fastest rider France has produced like poetry in motion ,more so than JMB. A shame bad luck and injury robbed him of achieving AMA Titles.

That was an incredible ride by Tortelli. It was like he was on a different track the way he floated over all the bumps and ruts.

It's a pity Tortelli couldn't put a clean season together as he was definitely one of the fastest men on the planet in most races,even against RC and Everts
