In the program"Niçin?", we try to answer "why" certain rights movements and issues are important in the struggle for rights by knitting personal experiences with the historical experience of Turkey.
In this program, we re addressing the question of “Why Struggle for the Disappearances?” together with Sebla Arcan, whose life is intertwined with the struggle for the disappearances. Sebla Arcan talks about the Human Rights Association Istanbul Branch, Commission on Disappearances; the conditions under which the idea of sit-ins in Galatasaray Square emerged; the struggle of the Saturday Mothers for more than 900 weeks and the importance of the establishment of Galatasaray Square as a place of memory.
"Niçin?" is every month on the School of Human Rights KZbin channel.
