When I worked at a large vacuum shop, and we sold 15 different brands, Sebo was my favorite, their quality was the best.

“No one has ever complained about 3 extra inches” I laughed out loud. I wanted to hear more sound comparison. You showed how the Sebo sounds without the brushroll on and then you showed how the Miele brushroll sounds.
@mattheviewer2 жыл бұрын
Helpful comparison as usual! I have both of these (E3 .vs. C3 UNI-Q). IMHO The Miele does a better job filtering fine dust (Sebo's bags can leak) , is more stable (Sebo can tip over if you pull it fast around corners), and has more sophiicated handle controls (but only in the top end version). However, the Sebo is quieter, doesn't blow air around quite as much, more compact, is easier to unlock the power brush from vertical position. Miele 238 powerhead can leave a small unswept row due to its underside belt placement, Sebo ET - 1 doesn't and is far easier to service.

My new Sebo E3 has a power head switch on the hose handle in addition to the suction control. The L shaped head on the Sebo makes it able to angle into tight spaces, like between furniture legs. I also like that the canister can be put into standby with the suction control on the hose handle.

Man, they really fixed quite a few things on my new E3 premium. The woman selling me the Sebo really sold me on the power head, it’s just….beast mode. Plus parts are cheaper. Just wish the swivel induced turn in the head. The lack of angle in the connection makes your wrist input kind of meaningless. Otherwise it is so clearly a commercial product compared to the Miele, and is sooo low profile, can get under almost anything. I was lying down giddily cleaning all the way under the bed.

I used to have a Miele Uniq, but gave it to my dad. I'm using a Sebo E3 Premium in white. The power head on the Sebo is much easier to glide across carpet than the Miele's power head. The only thing I don't like about the Sebo power head is that it doesn't make those nice "carpet lines" when vacuuming carpet.

Have a commercial cleaning business, we run the mieles' and they get used LOTS, and HARD, to be honest, in the long run, the extra power and suction makes a huge difference with the ability to clean the job in a timely manner and to a good standard. Not a single issue with either of our C1 or C3 and they do do 20 to 30 hours a week. They get sent in for service once every 3 months, and they're kept up to date. Only issue we ever had, was a user flaw, of not replacing the bag inner housing filter, and not installing the bag right, and it sucked dirt through the motor. Worked fine for a further 6 weeks until the new motor arrived. They are solid as fk little machines.
@ABG2412 Жыл бұрын
I am glad you mentioned the extra power/suction... I was a little perplexed by the statement in the video that the differences were not big since 34% GREATER working vacuum and 31% GREATER sealed for the Miele over the Sebo absolutely is huge/significant (esp. if one has a thick carpet)! Additionally, the Miele brush is a chevron pattern, with denser bristles, that aggressively drives the debris toward the central opening of the suction path in the power-head. I *HUGELY* prefer how Sebo units are so incredibly easy to service and maintain. They *destroy* Miele on this point. However, I also believe that when it comes to deep cleaning, Miele are *easily* the superior product. Further, I believe that due to the superior Miele bag design, that difference is likely to only increases as the bag fills, though I admit I have not tested them side by side. Both are of very similar quality. It does seem to be dodging anger of respective fans to not outright say how much better the Sebo is for insanely easy maintenance/long term personal care and truly, how much better the Miele is for deep cleaning. There are very few professional/industry tests I have knowledge of in either Germany or the U.S. that place any of the Sebo products at the top for outright cleaning performance - NOT that they are less than great, they just are not typically tested as "the best" in this regard. And yes, I have owned multiple Sebos (actually more Sebos than Miele).
@pheonixfps9248 Жыл бұрын
@AB G I'm in Australia, so these machines get treated hard. If you're a general household user, and have the time for servicing them yourself, I can't see any issue with the SEBO, but for the money you pay, and the end results, I'll go Miele. I'll leave the servicing to people who have the time, and as its an incurred business expense, I can write it off 😂. We've got multiple commercial backpack vacuums as well, that just don't match the Miele for outright power and efficiency. The other thing we found with the Miele is that it works extremely well with aftermarket bristle heads that have thick and fine bristles, as we have to run different heads, for different carpet types. We did have wertheim machines, with the power heads that vibrate, but I'll never buy another one again. They just fall apart and overly expensive. I can buy 2 c3's for the price of 1 wertheim.

My $.02, for most of the us market where wall to wall carpet seems to be more the norm than in Europe apparently, you really need to have a powered brush head, which you don’t get in the Miele until the higher end models, while the sebo models come with the et1 on nearly all models. The warranty on the sebos are also better, if you even end up needing to use it. The Mieles are definitely prettier but the sebo is just plain functional. I think you really get more for your money with sebo especially if you need more than just a bare floor vacuum.

Nice review. Simple and effective. I somehow collect vacuums and have repaired dozens that people have thrown out (sometimes 'cause the bag is full). One thing I have noticed is every unit no matter who makes it, always has the same motor, or they were so close as to be indistinguishable. Also can't count how many power heads had poor belt drives. I was given a Miele and have yet to take the cover off, but was curious if you have the same impression (motor wise). So far it works well but has no powerhead which is a real drawback.

Meant to add that it looked like the Miele brush head was horsehair while the Sebo was polypro. All good brushes used to be horsehair. They are much better on soft surfaces while the plastic brush will scratch. Try it on your plexi car dashboard and see for yourself.

Recently checked out the E3 Sebo, compared to C3 Miele, came down to price. AU$1600 Sebo and AU600 for the Miele. My current old vacuum is still working very well, found the small battery holder in the handle was broken. So no speed variations, new part would have cost almost half the new model. Old one is 15yrs, so could be useful for a workshop cleaner.. Only bought the C3 a couple of days ago, still unboxed. Mostly carpeted house plus stairs.. Great video, thankyou! 👍🇦🇺

The prices for Miele also went down in Europe. I wanted to buy one as our Dyson is slowing dying and I noticed that the Sebos are almost twice the price of the Miele. However, the Sebo would come with the powerhead, while the Miele would have the suction-powered brush. I wanted to buy the powerhead, but a Miele rep told me that the current version of Cat & Dog no longer has the ports on the body of the vacuum to provide power to the powerhead. This would explain the price difference.

Nice review. For people w/ autoimmune issues the Miele should stand out. That hepa exhaust filter is a big deal for mold/actino sensitive people. I'm curious of the carpet cleaning ability of their electric heads like the SEB236 and their air operated carpet heads like the TurboTeQ. Is there that much difference for say, low pile carpets? I had a Kirby back in the day and it did a great job cleaning due to the powerful agitation of the carpet and suction power.

Own both, however sad to hear that Miele is now using Chinese sourced parts and warranty is now three years, where as Sebo is 100% German with a ten year warranty on motor. This is a game changer.

Thank you for watching! The reason for Miele making stuff in China is a political move to be able to sell things in the Chinese market. The quality still fantastic. This is an awesome comparison and I really was on the fence between these two vacuums as we have two dogs and a cat and we sometimes vacuum daily, especially when they're shedding. However, I've discovered that Miele has made some changes to its product line-up, at least in Europe: Miele offers the Complete C3 Cat & Dog for around 400 Euros, but it has only the turbobrush accessory (the vacuum's suction is used to spin the brush) and there is no available powerbrush accessory. Not only that, but the European version of the Complete C3 Cat & Dog no longer accepts vacuum tubes with connection pins (there's a piece of gray plastic where the pins were before), so you even if you get the powerhead as a separate accessory, you can't power it. The Miele rep I have talked to said it's not a supply issue, it's what the headquarters decided to make available in each specific market. He said it might be related to the low number of sales of the Complete C3 Electro, which did include the powerhead.

This guide is only for the United States. Europe gets completely different machines.
@rockatanescu Жыл бұрын
@@PerformanceReviews I completely understand, but a lot of people (myself included) might assume that the differences between the two markets are mainly around the vacuum motor (due to the EU regulations in effect since 2017) and maybe around the naming and packages available. It often makes sense to watch reviews for products sold in the US market and then "translate" them to the products available in EU because there's a good chance you find an actual review like this one, not a home-made infomercial. Miele corded and bagged vacuums with a powerbrush were definitely available in the EU a year or so ago, but now they seem to have silently disappeared and Miele is pushing hard their handheld bagless vacuums instead, which I think it's unfortunate.

I can't think of any other situations where I don't want max suction, and honestly how many people actually own a real vintage wool rug that they are daring to vacuum and not hand rake anyway... I really hilariously love how they show pictures of "drapes" on the Miele low power setting. Who has ever actually tried to vacuum drapes? Let me tell you: it doesn't work. Okay you turn down the power....now you don't get anything off them anyway. Okay turn it up. Now you just suck the drapes into the vacuum. It doesn't work. I'm assuming we mean the SEBO D2 and D1 not the Rainbow D2 and D1 You would replace just the motor itself but that's pretty much unheard of. Those machines are still considered relatively new. I would consult your local dealer.

Currently looking into the sebo's/miele's for a new vacuum. Even though you said that the difference in working/sealed vacuum is negligible, in another of your video, you said that the bare minimum for a turbo head would be 45'' working vacuum. Isnt the sebo performance a little underwhelming overall? Thank for your fantastic videos !
@PerformanceReviews2 жыл бұрын
That's a wild misquote. The bare minimum to run a turbo cat is 45" other turbos run at much lower numbers really anything over 30 in a portable vacuum is good. The performance of SEBO should speak for itself without the numbers.

Which ones head glides over carpet better, smother, easier of the two?
@PerformanceReviews2 жыл бұрын
Really depends on the carpet. The body of the SEBO is slick underneath so it glides easier on carpet. The nozzle of the Miele has an extra height adjustment and larger Wheels allowing the nozzle part to move a little easier than the SEBO on hi pile carpet.

How do you think these vacuums compare to the ZeroG, which is working its way up to being at a similar price point as these? With the frequent sale prices on Sebo and Miele, they're even more comparably priced. I'm especially curious about how the power heads compare. I really like the idea of a power carpet head, but it doesn't seem to be something that's offered on many vacuums.
@MsLuminescence Жыл бұрын
Yes I'm curious about this as well. Is the ZeroG more powerful? I want my old carpets to look revitalized.
@WakeUpAmerican000s Жыл бұрын
Parker - wow. Being a lifelong user of upright vacuums, I just can't imagine trying to clean one's carpets without a powered rotating brush. Your comment that powered heads are "rare" is suprising, but perhaps that's why canister vacs are not considered very good for carpet.

So I finally took the plunge awhile back and bought a Classic C1, and I love it to death, but I find that the basic, air powered accessories I am stuck with sort of lacking when I have to do any rugs or the animal hair covered furniture. Our house is all hard floors, so it's difficult to justify, but do you think upgrading to either of these be worth it?

I would have your turbo tool service. On an area rug to that thing should be rather impressive. You might also need to upgrade to the new style turbo if you have one of the older style turbos.

Any chance for a comparison between the Sebo D4 and the Miele C3? I want to like the sebos but imo they're so damn ugly! That said, if the D4 performs better than the C3 that's kind of a no-brainer.
@PerformanceReviews Жыл бұрын
The D4 is in a different class than the C3. Not in terms of performance but in terms of its mission. The SEBO D4 mission is to clean larger areas. With larger capacity and a 40' cord. I'd recommend you go to your local dealer and take a test drive no matter what you decide to purchase.

SEBO makes commercial vacuums and suggest you get one of those models.
@MtnGirll Жыл бұрын
I have a cleaning business. Mostly big residential homes. The Sebo E3 is what I'd recommend ALL DAY for residential cleaning. Sebo makes commercial vacuums but they are mostly uprights. I love canister vacuums for my business because they do everything. The E3 is ideal for a business because it's more sturdy, cheaper to replace parts, and cheaper bags than Miele. The E3 gives you tremendous portability, power and durability. In my opinion it's the perfect vacuum for pro-residential cleaning because it gets under everything. It also does an incredible job on upholstery and pet hair. The bumper around the Sebo will allow you to move faster through house without damaging their walls and furniture. The other huge commercial advantage of the Sebo E3 is the removable brush roll. Essential for deep cleans. I recommend getting the parquet twist brush Sebo makes, it's the best and fastest I've ever used for hard floors and getting around behind toilets and into small spaces. It's called the "SEBO Turn & Clean Parquet Brush 1327WS". I would marry that brush tool. I used a similar version for years with my old Miele.
