The black on the exhaust filter isn’t dirt, it’s carbon dust which is inert and doesn’t really clog filters as much hinge the long service life. Yes it looks gross but it’s not a indication of a problem. Sebo motors do seem to produce more carbon dust. I suppose just like a bmw does with brake dust. Those Germans.

More Than 'Just a Cleaner' lol, maybe so. My Felix does the same thing. I haven’t had any of the other issues you have had with mine but I cycle between my e3, and my Felix with occasional use of my Miele c3. My only gripe with sebo is they need to slap a small led light on the head, & brushroll options. the green roller should be delicate, blue for medium but I feel they should make a red brush with stiff bristles. I feel the blue is just a tad too soft at times. A stiffer brush would allow the carpet fiber to be lifted better and make the head clean deeper.

Great comparison. This exhaust carbon dust is just a non-issue, unless it's blocking flow, which it isn't - not least on account of how stupendously huge the surface area is, as against what the motor needs, & as against how small it is on other vacs. This is basically a take on Sebo's 'airbelt' technology - a really fat belt!

@@excelsior2708 You know - I find the bristles the perfect balance of stiffness. I don't use my Kirby Avalir (with the 'stiff, oblique' brushroll), as it's just too aggressive. The pre-Avalir/Sentria brushroll is too soft however (for my use-case). So the Sebo brings the perfect balance, I find.

The Felix apparently uses an older motor design as their newer canisters like the E3 generate less motor carbon dust.

This was such a refreshing, realistic, and unpretentious review of this machine. Thank you! Sebo really needs to update this design, and make some further refinements, as I feel they are resting on their laurels a bit here. Dual-roller design for hard floors and carpet is a game-changer; a Felix with a more modern brush head, better switches/levers, and an included wand (with a place on the machine to store it) would be a nearly perfect vacuum. These machines are such a better deal in the EU as well; almost half the price as they are in the US.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked the review 👍 For me I think a wand and light on the front would be great additions. Yes the switches could be better, nevertheless, I've used this machine for the equivalent of 6 years or so and they're still going strong 👍😁

Thanks for this thorough look at what kind of things to look out for with this model. I just assembled and started using a SEBO Felix myself, and quickly discovered that little plastic tool-mounting clamp isn't the most user-friendly or well-built design. It has these little ridges that, if it isn't fully closed (it tends to push outward), it scratches and chips away at the plastic tubing of the accessory tools. The hose didn't have these ridges. I discovered this on my first day using it, and would guess that while my dusting brush and crevice tool won't outright fail, they'd be the first to wear down and get brittle, maybe affecting airflow or fitment to the hose later on. They already have chips on their neck rims where the ridges line up. I'm going to take them to my local dealer to see if I can get them replaced. The joys of trial and error!
@MoreThanJustaCleaner
@MoreThanJustaCleaner Жыл бұрын
I've never had any of those issues and after years worth of use they're certainly not brittle - they're robust as hell! I clean 4 houses a day 5 days a week - that's a years worth of use in a month. I've had these machines/tools for 2 to 3 years real time so in that time they've had over 12yrs worth of use. The only thing I've found is the rotating brush head gets slacker. Other than that and replacing brushes, filters etc from use, no issues.

@@MoreThanJustaCleaner I do have to agree with you that sharks are good vacuums, but they don't hold up well. I've been using my NV352 shark for a few weeks now. (since I got quarantined.) I've filled the bin each and every day I use it. The filter is starting to get a little dirty but doesn't affect the performance the vacuum provides. I have even used it outside to "hoover" the leaves out of our front porch chairs and had no problem with it. The plug says it is a 2010 vacuum, so I'm quite pleased with it. (I got it from a family friend a year ago)

Oh god yes, the Shark canister fills so fast. I chose the larger 1.65l NV601UK model specifically for the larger canister but even so, it soon fills up.

My sebo felix post motor filter is like that, it’s just carbon dust from the motor and most of the dust in the bag doesn’t get past the pre motor filter. Great video BTW.

Oh yeah! That foot switch is sooo annoying. I'm always scared that I'll press too hard and break it so I try to use my hand to switch it. They could've made the switch in the handle. It would be soo much more convenient. I also agree on the handle.. Mine's quite loose as well, but my vacuum is an old 1300W and it still holds in place.. Like I said, I'm disappointed with its hard floor cleaning. The gates on sides are very helpful but it's just a bit annoying moving the cleaner around to vacuum cat biscuit or litter. I'm 25 years old but I must say, vacuuming my 3 storey house with it is a bit of a workout. Can't complain about its carpet cleaning though. Picks up cats' hair so easily.. You mention that tools are brilliant. I need to complain about upholstery tool. The dirt gets trapped on those bristles so easily and it's a bit hard to clean it. I used to use hose's end to clean it but it kinda flattens the bristles. I think that a simple upholstery tool with 2 velour strips would be much better. I wouldn't worry about the exhaust filter. I've read that people never change them and their machines work just fine. Although I would still change them after some time. The thing is, nobody knows when to change them, like nobody knows where to put air fresheners. Some say bag, some outside the bag.. Bags could be improved though. I also have a cylinder E1 and there's a noticeable amount of fine dust in dust compartment once bag gets full. Same with my Felix, after some time sides of dust compartment get a bit dusty. I'm looking forward to your X7 videos. I'm not a fan of those machines. I don't think they clean good enough. I've read that height adjustment doesn't work as good as some people say. It lowers or rises the brush constantly and can't really get deep into carpet. You can't turn off the brushroll which is not good for hard floors or some carpets.. I also find it hard to manoeuvre, Felix is much better, even though I've used X only for a short amount of time..
@MoreThanJustaCleaner

Wow, that's quite a comment :D Personally I think it's great on hard floors. Turn the brushes off set the brush height to 1 or 2 and it's great. I know what you mean about the upholstery tool and the dust getting trapped, that is a bit annoying, but on the plus side those stiff bristles agitate the pile effectively. On the X7 I must admit I was surprised that the brushes don't don't turn off. However I've found they lift up when the vac is upright and so far it hasn't been a problem. Thanks for watching and commenting :D

ET-1 is a carpet head, SEBO has the 7200GS head which is optimized for hard floors.

Any issues with oriental/delicate rugs? Are you using the delicate 5010ge brush roller? Decreasing power also affects the brush motor? Cheers, excellent content.
@MoreThanJustaCleaner
@MoreThanJustaCleaner 4 жыл бұрын
All roller brush vacuums are a challenge with fragile and unbacked rugs because even though you can decrease the suction, you can't slow the brush down which I think might help. I'm using just the standard roller. You can usually tell which rugs will be a challenge, they're flatter to the floor so I approach with caution and start with the head in a higher position and suction low-so far I've had no problems. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍😁

Nice review! Wrt power head, the ET-1 does seem a little long in the tooth. Sebo's uprights offer automatic height, a headlight and other features the powerheads continue to lack. Otherwise, the ET-1 on both my former Felix and new E3 do a good job grooming rugs (the E3's better on ultra plush carpet, not bogging down as the Felix did) - the E3's powerhead added an amber light telling you when it's being used with brush roller off. If you want to do hard floors, you really need the parquet brush on either the Felix or the E3 to get the sand and fine power picked up (Miele's power heads are the same).

So no new vacuum updates? Do you still have the same Felix , a new Felix, or did you move to something different? Did you ever get another Shark? Which do you prefer for long dog hair? Great videos- I have been watching hundreds (again) as considering moving from a Shark NZ801 anti hair wrap to the Felix. Decent UK videos are rare so Bravo!

@@taniaberlow4786 yup still got this machine. I have used a couple of other SEBO machines too but I've always come back to this one. Over replaced the brush a couple of times, but bear in mind a vac gets a year of use in a month with me. Oddly enough I'm uploading a Shorts video featuring this machine soon, in fact I'll do it tonight. Yes, hair gets wrapped around the brush. It always will. But I always have one of these on my keys amzn.to/3ASCHDY and the scissors cut it off easily 👍😁

@ I went for an old ladies Felix- so barely used 2019 model - ordered the ‘fun’ pattern filter and a head torch to give it lights , the extension tube and hose and a dyson adaptor kit so I can use my old Dyson tools. So bye bye Shark and your non replaceable and easily damaged anti hair wrap silicon fins and hello Felix.
