It's only when things take on hidden meaning or are foreshadowing that explanations are needed. But even then, you still need to watch the whole show before you can even catch onto that...

FYI, they show you motion lines when Aang uses air bending. Know that this is for the benefit of the audience so that you can see what he is doing to the air. To the people in the show, the air movement is invisible because, well, it is air.

Fighting styles we've seen! Airbending is based on Ba Gua. It's based on circular motion around your opponent, avoiding both their attacks and their defenses by finding just the right angle to strike from. Water bending is based on tai chi. It's fluid and adaptable, and focuses on redirecting your opponent's attacks with your own. Firebending is based on Northern Shaolin Kung Fu. It's very focused on moving in fast, hitting your opponent with quick, powerful strikes, and then floating back out of reach before they can counter. Nearly as mobile as airbending but more straight lines, not circles, and more focused on hitting with attacks where airbending is more focused on avoiding attacks.

That with bees is a myth, they are absolutely physically able to fly.

Exactly, and thank you! I think the myth comes from someone modeling them as if they were airplanes with wings of that size. But we've always known that bees don't fly the way airplanes fly, so saying they shouldn't be able to fly has never made sense. People have since modeled the actual way that flapping at the speed and scale of a honeybee creates low pressure vortices above the wings, so it's well understood how they fly.

Right now he only bends the other elements as a reactive instinct while he is in the Avatar State...when his eyes glow. He's not really in control of it, more like an automatic defense. He is naturally an air bender so he's sort of born with that ability. He has the ability to learn the others though, since he is the Avatar. Kitara is a water bender but still has to master the art of water bending. And believe it or not...Sokka will be one of your favorite characters soon, just wait and see.

I am excited about this on so many levels you have no idea, I love this show, have seen it 17 times in total and it never gets old, my only complaint about it is that the first season is kind of childish and didn't really have that special formula that made atla so special, but literally, the more you watch the quality just gets better and better, better choreography during fights and it losses that childishness and becomes more adult and I love it, season 3 my favorite by far.
