Rated - Haval H2 - Driveability review after 7 months (Including 0-100km/h) - Part 2

Overall a great vehicle for everyday driving and long distance trips. The comfort deserves more price. The engine in line with the transmission response is quite spot on at 105kw and 202 Nm of torque.
There is a little confusion from the transmission sometimes on hills and a bit of "grant" from the engine may annoy some people especially when overtaking or putting your foot down on hills but when you remember that you paid R150k to R200k less for the amount of car you are getting compared to rivals, you are most likely going to forget that very quickly.
There is a turbo lag however the amount of time is takes 2sec or so is quite matching with tried and tested brands over the years.
The issue of breaks does concern me a bit as indicated in the video but will only know once we check them at 15000km service. I know some breaks are loud regardless of how far they've come, hoping this is one such instance.
It is by no means a performance vehicle, which is why it will amaze you as it carrying an "under-dog" tag due to its country of origin (China).
This particular vehicle however is one to change the outlook on what China has to offer the automotive world.
Well done to Haval for delivering such a phenomenal product at an affordable price.

I feel like the reason that Haval made the lower gear ratios on this car longer is because they might have underestimated the engine capability as it is quite small compared to how big the car is.

I hear you, I just think they need to work on refining the engines. The 1.4 TSI engine in the Tiguan or Q3 is doing magic. I recently drove the Q2 with an 8 speed automatic 1.4 110kw/250nm. Even on high speed it is so settled and still very much punchy if you want to overtake.🤔

I bought Haval H2 1.5T in 2019. Drove for 45,000 kms but now there is jerking in the car whenever I accelerate. Changed my spark plugs and it did remove most of the jerking but right after 3-4 days it started coming again even though its not that severe. When starting from signal stop or from stop, when I accelerate the car jerks. Does this happen to you also?

Hi Yusuf. Thanks. Hi, just standard music controlled through the search buttons but it does not pull the folders from your music so that you have to control through your phone. The voice commands only works when connected via Iphone for carplay only. Kindly refer to my video on Detailed Features, I covered that 🙂

@@mrpeery1 Hi, have not experienced any mechanical issues so far. Even the brakes, they said its the dust gathering between the disk and the pads creating friction. I havent experienced much of the noise since they cleaned them.

Hi, I have a question: I guess this model has an electronic handbrake as the jolion model which I’m interested in buying. But I’m worried about the situation if you run out of battery and the break is activated. How do you move the car? Thanks

Honesly, I love this car and its a solid product but I would almost always say take the Jolion as its a much improved car. With the battery and so on and parking brake, I think generally that's an issue with many cars, I haven't seen a manual release on Haval and don't really know how it will work, I think you will have to get jumpers to get it on.

It was dust from new brakes. Still using the same brakes now at 20000km. Working properly!

Hi Sam, my pleasure. It comes standard with a 5 year/60 000km service plan. During this period there is no payment for the service. If you drive around 12000km per annum you will be paying for service after 5 years. So far I have not experienced any issue that requires me to claim under warranty, however, I have heard many people getting the assistance they needed via social media comments. This however is never guaranteed on any brand as somethings may be argued against.

love the content. but i think you have a heavy foot. i averaged 7.0 in the kia seltos 1.4T, similar in the 1.6 and averaged around 5.1 in the 1.5 crdi

With that being said, i was looking for the h2 myself, but got declined. So stil sorting out my credit score and going to try again. For now, am stil stuck with my old hyundai getz

Hi, no it does not. Only Apple Car Play is available.

Nope, because of the lack of presence of google in China, they don't cater for Android Auto yet. But I've seem many people replacing the infotainment system completely, and it looks really nice.
