If the truth was known, the talk and hype were all Texas. I am used to the media blowing smoke and overhyping the Longhorns every year, and this year and the SEC media is no different. Texas went to the playoffs last year, but they have lost too many of their best players, and I don't believe that the portal will provide the same level of talent for plug and play players for Texas to continue what they started last season.

My expectation for Texas is 10-2 for the season, but I am not sure 10-2 gets you to Atlanta. Ten wins will get you to the CFP but other than that it all depends on what the other teams in the SEC do. The Longhorns could be a one loss team in the SEC and still not make it to the Championship game, I think the conference is that loaded this season.

@@tylercole3738 I see three danger zones where games could be dropped: first, Michigan and OU Texas could lose one of those games, second, Georgia obviously, and third, one of the Arkansas, Kentucky, and A&M games. I don't think the Longhorns will lose three games, but realistically speaking Texas has top ten talent and 10-2 would probably have Texas somewhere between #7 and #10 rankings. This is all just preseason projections, but most likely I will start feeling more positive about the upcoming season when the Fall camp starts, because the DT and WR situation for the Horns right now is more about promise than reality.
