The smart pick would be for OU to make it and win it, but like I said I always pick at least 1 non Texas/OU team to make the Big12 Championship and I'm picking Oklahoma State. So yeah it was between OU and Texas and I'm going with Texas. Here's some of my reasons. Oklahoma State: Wallace decided to stay. Hubbard decided to stay. Spencer Sanders is hella talented and he'll be even better this year. Having a really good QB, one of the top WRs in the Big12, and the best RB in the big12 and one of the best in the country is huge. Their defense is going to be really good, especially their secondary cause of their awesome players at Safety. Oklahoma only gets a chance every 3 or 4 years to truly win the Big12 and this year is their chance. Texas: Texas recruits better than OU and is always recruiting. The problem is that they're one of a few teams that constantly recruits in the top 5 and 10 and #1 in their division but can't seem to do anything with it. They always play OU and other top teams close, lose or almost to lose to teams they should destroy, and just when we're about to write them off they win their bowl game over a top team like Georgia or Utah and everyone gets excited about what they can do next year. OU fans are torn about Texas, they love seeing them fail, but they need another powerhouse in the Big12. Texas fans just keep saying they're back to actually not being back. They always the tools to win the Big12 and even more, but will they? They're loaded pretty much everywhere. Their QB is great and this is his year to prove that he's worthy of a early draft pick. They had a bunch of injuries early on last year, so I'll give them that. They just need to be consistent, which means beating teams they should be and be more dominant.

pridelander06: That doesn't make any sense. How in the world do you lose blue blood status losing in a championship game? Nebraska lost that game by one second. Texas was in the NC game. I'd say you can argue Nebraska lost it when they lost to Purdue twice in a row or got destroyed by Ohio State. It hasn't been that long for Texas and they've shown potential to get back up there recently. I hate them but I don't think they're that close yet to losing their status.
