Second Cat & Resonator Delete w/Vibrant Muffler | 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport

Recently replaced the 2nd catalytic converter and stock resonator with a 12" Vibrant muffler. Cold starts are a little more mellow now, but once the exhaust warms up the volume increases.
Car has the following modifications:
- SXTH Element 3.5" Intake
- SXTH Element Intercooler Resonator Delete
- SXTH Element Single Oil Catch Can (PCV)
- SXTH Element Aluminum Shifter Bushings (cable & base)
- B&M Short Shifter
- Custom 2.5" exhaust with 2nd cat delete
- Vibrant 12" Muffler & 12" Bottle Resonator
- 845 Motorsports Electronic Boost Control Solenoid
- Pierce Motorsports 2-point lower tie bar
- SXTH Element 22mm rear sway bar
- KDM Tuners Stainless Brake and Clutch lines
- Yellowspeed Racing Coilovers (Shock Settings: 20/18)
- XXR 527 18x8 +45 (custom offset)
- Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 235/40/18

This was probably my favorite Hyundai video every made 🙏🏼 wish it was longer. So 4x12" muffler, and 4x12" resonator? Plus the second cat delete, this' exactly what I wanted, except I wanted 3"-3.5" piping, but I have 300hp v6. Correct me if I typed your setup wrong, sounds really good 👍🏼

With a naturally aspirated engine you dont want piping thats that big. 2.5 inch is likely good for 350+whp

@@drzflyest4 2.5" is small for a single pipe setup. 350whp (400hp+) You want two pipes of its 2.5". If I had that power for my single overhead cam engine, I'd have a big single pipe setup. (edit: True-dual, as in two pipes)

Are cold starts fairly loud? like wake the neighborhood loud? im debating axleback vs catback right now but i live in an apartment complex. havnt heard either in person so no clue how loud it will actually be. Used to have a catback on a scion tc and that wasnt too bad. Leaving at 5 am doesnt help either.

I'm in an apartment too. It's not super crazy, but my new setup I would say is a tad quieter on cold start. I also don't drive the car during the week anymore either.

What Resonator did you install on here and did deleting the 2nd cat effect your emissions at all ?

Vibrant bottle resonator on the axleback, the Vibrant muffler is on the midpipe. Deleting a cat will always effect tailpipe emissions, but I live in a county that doesn't do inspections. :)

Old video, exhaust changed after this. Second cat = second catalytic converter. There are two, one on the downpipe and one in the midpipe. So the setup in this video would be stock downpipe, nothing in the midpipe, and vibrant muffler.

Are both o2 sensors on the stock downpipe? I'm looking to get a midpipe to delete the second cat, and throw.s quality resonator and muffler on my wife's elantra. But if the downstream o2 sensor is after that second cat, that will be an issue. The oem downpipe needs to have 2 o2 bungs for this to work. Thanks

@@JTube571 amazing! I see some $700 axle back setups, which are nothing but shiny muffler deletes.. And they sound like ass. I want to get a resonated mid pipe and replace the factory muffler with a better quality muffler. Your car sounds great.. My wife wants a bit more rumble without being obnoxious like my Mazda 😂

@@sonofnothing I'd recommend stock downpipe, 2nd cat & res delete, add vibrant bottle resonator, JunBL axleback. (Pricey but worth it)

@@JTube571 thanks. The company I was looking at, offered a catless midpipe with the choice of a vibrant or Flowmaster resonator. I'll have to look at the axle back section, but I might have the stock muffler cut and an aftermarket welded in.

What do you think of the quad tipped exhaust system sold on sharkracing? Yours sounds amazing but I want a bit of a more aggresive look at the rear

A lot of people have gone quad tip, but they have done it with a completely custom setup. It requires cutting the rear diffuser so keep that in mind. Nobody makes a quad specific diffuser at the moment. With that said, I would avoid Shark Racing. I have not heard good things.

They sometimes take months to ship things out, and on occasion don't ship at all. Best places to get parts are from pretty much anyone listed in the description I got parts from.

I've done nearly 49k miles in just over two years, only had the cooling fan replaced under warranty because it would squeak when it slowed to a stop after shutting the car off. All else has been good.
