Makes me feel crazy how this song just randomly appeared into my library one day and I liked it so much, that I thought it was like a life's gift to me; then, went to listen it today after a tough day and just came to my mind ''what would other people think about this song?'' and made me feel more crazy that literally everyone loves it, lol. Somehow, this guy makes us feel understood in a very controversially stage of our lives, choosing our path.

I feel like I relate to this song so much. It's been one of my favorites since I was like 3 or 4 and now 9-10 years later it still is. Brent Smith (lead singer of Shinedown) has such an amazing voice. This song just makes my heart happy, y'know, except for the fact that I always cry while listening to this song because it reminds me of a friend I have who attempted. Thankfully they made it though and I'm so grateful that they did.🙃🙃

The feelings I have and the scenes that flash through my head while hearing this make me feel physically sick. We played this song at my uncle's funeral. I can still hear it... complete silence, and then the song begins and all of the people around me burst into tears, moans and cries so loud, my family, my best friend...it's still so loud in my head. Like, how do you shake something like that y'all? I can still see the bright green four leaf clover tattoo he had because he was of Irish descent, he was so proud and could make you laugh like no other... like belly laugh, have you crying, can't breathe kinda laughing! He committed suicide in 2009, one of the hardest things that I've dealt with as an adult. Love and miss you Uncle G. Words can't come close to describe how I miss you. 🤟🏼
@sendrex67624 жыл бұрын
Sorry about your Uncle and I know what you mean by the scenes flashing through your head. Me and my GF broke up about 2 months ago and I have been really sad about but this but for some reason this song reminds me of the feeling I had when we would cuddle up. I felt warm and safe.

Heres the correct lyrics: My eyes are open wide By the way I made it through the day I watch the world outside By the way I'm leaving out today I just saw Haley's comet, shooting She waved, said, "Why are you always running in place" Even the man in the moon disappeared Somewhere in the stratosphere Tell my mother, tell my father I have done the best I can To make them realize This is my life I hope they understand I'm not angry, I'm just saying Sometimes goodbye is a second chance Please don't cry one tear for me I'm not afraid of what I have to say This is my one and only voice So listen close it's only for today I just saw Haley's comet, she waved She waved, said, "Why are you always running in place" Even the man in the moon disappeared Somewhere in the stratosphere Tell my mother, tell my father I have done the best I can To make them realize This is my life I hope they understand I'm not angry, I'm just saying Sometimes goodbye is a second chance Here is my chance This is my chance Tell my mother, tell my father I have done the best I can To make them realize This is my life I hope they understand I'm not angry, I'm just saying Sometimes goodbye is a second chance Sometimes goodbye is a second chance Sometimes goodbye is a second chance

This is kinda odd to mention, but once when i waz a teen, i could relate to this. I had an opportunity (or what i thought was an opportunity) at what i thought would be a better life. Looking back, im so fucking glad i didnt let my life go down that path. Lemme emphasise im not saying let opportunities pass you by, but do make sure youre not chasing something Thats impossible/dangerous for yourself or the ones you care about.
@kmd65976 жыл бұрын
Stay away from the blind opportunities that take you opposite of the direction you want to go. I can relate to Chads comment. Don’t get fooled my a blind opportunity in which you think your life will become better. Drugs for example. I won’t elaborate, just think.
@stevenbaker4706 жыл бұрын
K M Cowman even those "opportunities " can be turned positive if you let it. Drug use can if you break the addiction and use that to help others do the same. Painful experience can often teach more than more positive experiences. Like in drug addiction or alcoholism, the ones who least relate are the ones who have never gone through it.

When I was young I remember my dad always hating this song. Years later as an adult I come out to him and now I fully understand

When I was little I'd sing to this all the time and my dad would play along on guitar now I'm too shy to sing out loud but those are some good memories :,)

one year from graduation, one year from leaving my family and my home behind. i’m not mad at my parents, but it’s all too stressful for me to stay, they wouldn’t ever appreciate my hopes and aspirations so it would be best if i just left. i’m going to live my life how i want, and this is going to send this to my parents the day they realize i’m not here anymore. i’m going to travel the world, conquer my fears, and settle somewhere abroad. i won’t miss this place.

I just watched a video that seems to relate to your situation and choices: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXuohaxpqp16h5I The part I'm talking about starts at the 13-minute mark. if you're not interested in the paleontology bit then 19:50 is a good place to continue. I'd also suggest you watch the whole video because it's more meaningful that way. Whether you do or don't though, good for you for deciding to take control of your life and do what YOU want to do.

I’m currently going through that right now. I love my parents and family but I cannot go back, because it’s stressful and I want to live life to the fullest. Thank you for sharing your story ❤️

Understandable. It took me until like, 2-3 years ago to stop hearing that line as "I just saw aliens coming, truly."

That's because it doesn't say as she waved. It says I just saw Haley's comet shooting. And he just does his vocalization on it.

I grew up in a normal family life as a kid but even at 8 years old I knew I was different, fast forward years and I wasted my entire life behind bars, only now I realise the shame I put in them, this song goes to my mum and dad for all the crap I put them through while they were here,
