With South Melbourne, Melbourne City & Melbourne Victory.. thats now 3 clubs with the Melbourne name all based around the CBD. The Dads used to attend NSL games. Now its up to their kids to follow suit & with Preston being northern suburb based.. they usually pull big crowds on Friday nights.

Hopefully if we can get that new TV deal, it can bring back eurosnobs saying "I don't want to pay for optus and paramount/kayo/etc.". And gives no excuse to NPL fans who say they can't support the a league because they already have their syd united, olympic, south melbourne etc. We can pray for a transfer system but we need faith and have multiple teams from all states first 🙏🙏

I thought those 2-4 teams were being added to the A-League, separate to the second tier? I thought Canberra and Auckland were 2 of them, or serious contenders to be 2 of them. The A-League competition is almost 20 years old and there is no team from the capital cities of the 2 countries involved in the senior men’s league. But I’m really happy to see the start of the structure of a proper pyramid in Australia

@@chris.simmonds Yes, the A-league is also going to expand and is totally separate to the National Second Division which will announce a few additional clubs before it kicks off. Hopefully, some Adelaide and QLD clubs in my eyes. Canberra will be sorted with the A--League by then.
