Given that he is still improving each year at only 23, he could end up taking the WR in Berlin perhaps surpassing the all time best and getting under 1:59:40 in an actual marathon

Yes, but berlin is the absolute gold standard for a world record course. I think the last 10 world record was set in berlin dating back to that immortal 2.03.59 by haile gebresilase. Back then, 2.04 was the equivalent of the sub 2 barrier and he broke that in berlin and so many followed post that!

The commentary could have been better. I mean it's not rocket science. Neither commentator was really aware of what Kelvin Kiptum was doing. He basically missed the world record by a small margin and it only dawned on Pavey & co. after Kiptum had finished. The same with Mo Farah. No mention of him shattering the British over-40 record. Or Chris Thompson doing likewise.
