Great info, and a lot to look forward to in SL!!! Still strange to not have Oz around, but It's nice to see that the team is still not scared to tackle the big things. VR will be big for SL, and like no other VR out there. I can't wait!

There needs to be more stringent enforcement of proper tags for MP listings. It's currently flat out abusive how some add tags having nothing to do with their product to get views.

I've been helping new residents learn how to use Second Life for about 11 years, daily. Biggest problem is trying to contact a new person using an IM. About 80% don't see they have a pending IM to answer, so I can't help those. The viewer should have a momentary popup on screen so they can see what is needing to be answered, then have it slide over to the que in chat menu. So many people leave after a short time never to return. A loss fo LL when we could have people staying and spending money and enjoying this world.

People seriously if you want emojis in your secondlife chat or instant messages you do not need 3rd party anything... all you have to do is press windows key and dot and you will get a emoji menu come up.. instant message... nearby chat.. groups... whichever... not just for SL but for anywhere that has chat... you're welcome :)

I turned 16 years old in SL last month. I started setting up a virtual data center for IBM back in the day when SL was going to be the business platform of the future. I like the direction the new leadership is going. MOJO....consider looking into the Open Metaverse Alliance. There are efforts to bridge SL with the likes of Upland, decentralize, sandbox, and others... blockchain not required but refence to it opens up the doors to a lot of new players. Onboarding improvements are key as well. Looking forward to your good work.

Cool side effect is that Unity also runs on Windows, MacOS and Linux. Which means we could finally switch from a decades old engine to a modern one. Great news indeed :)

The inventory system is so confusing for new players to understand. Not being able to see what items look like before putting them on makes it difficult. Are there any plans to improve how inventory works?

@ Second Life: Using unity for the mobile apps, dose this mean you are also looking at updating the core engine and clients to be unit and more modern? Having an updated system with more technology updates along with more shader options, faster API calls in drawing and hardware utilization would be a big jump the platform needs and I'm sure everyone wants. Have there been any new talks/updates about looking into Unreal Engine 5 and utilizing nanite for LOD in addition to the above mentioned things?

Wow! Great stuff! Super excited for the mobile client! Very excited for the upcoming PBR and continuing optimizations to the desktop client. The inventory thumbnails and new avatars with devkits are going to be awesome. I know you have a busy year ahead and wish you all the best and look forward to it all! I think you are making the right decision prioritizing mobile and holding off on VR.. that's going to be huge. However, I think you all are very out of touch with your playerbase and community when it comes to land and pricing. I know many people in SL, and I've never heard one person yet to say that land prices are fair or supported. It's just begrudgingly accepted. Most just feel obligated or forced, and that they are just being taken advantage of,ie. if you want land just how it is. Yes, it's a complicated issue since you have allowed people to horde land... but it's a major issue that I am fairly certain you are wrong about and that is costing you much more than helping you... I feel very confident in saying if you increased land size tiers more and reduced mainland and region pricing by half you would more than make up for it by the increased demand that people would have for it then. Especially if you were to expand the linden payment for mainland as well. You would need to limit the amount of mainland that an account can have though. And the people that don't want to deal with mainland can still have option for all the private regions they want. The land barons are not doing the playerbase any favors. We don't need land hoarders. They are just a plague. We also need more special content areas for mainland like jeogeot gulf. Combat areas, game areas, race tracks and such. I also think you are wrong about linden homes as well. Sure... people "want" them just because they are available as an option to their sub. But have you seen the neighborhoods? How many resources are devoted to them and how empty they are? How laggy they are? How limited they are for building? How many people actually use their linden homes that have them? Cause most people including myself that have had them think they are neat but rather useless. They get it because compared to the shabby 1024 mainland plot that you can't even build anything on it's a decent option. But then you deco it out a bit and figure out how limited they are and how laggy the neighborhoods are and you just tend to stop using it or even going to it. The neighborhoods don't have any plots for businesses or RP or anything to make them an active community or fun place to hang out. Each neighborhood could benefit from having business plots for people to have shops and things, also like a park and recreation area.. a lake for fishing or boat lounging.. a sandbox area.. etc. They can't just be a bunch of houses crammed together.. it's not very appealing. So yea, still looking forward to all the great things to come but as always.. it can always be improved, and I know you all are hard at work on trying to do that. Here's to an awesome 2023!

All versions of the metaverse wave, which has swept the world especially in the last year, are based on the example of Second Life. Our expectation from second life is not a change in the current system, we do not need the nft system or play and win events. The current system is pretty good. But the only thing missing is staying away from the cryptocurrency world. The option to allow Linden to issue its own crypto and convert it to linden exchange options, linden to crypto and transfer it to an exchange such as binance. For the second life, which is already 20 years ahead of all metaverse projects on the market, it will put it ahead by another 40 years. Also, there is no doubt that it will be an incredible option for users...

Rockstar Games, take notes. This is how you develop and market your unreleased, unfinished game. Allow the consumers to comment in a platform to allow them to have a voice on the game and the best experience possible overall. Profits will go up because you've released a game that people actually want to buy and you will need to fix less bugs on alpha or beta releases
