If I suspect it’s a broken low voltage wire . I go to the air handler and connect the wires together and then go to the outside unit and do a Continuity test , no beeping noise means there’s a break in the wires .

As a secondary check always disconnect the low voltage from the contractor and check for voltage, sometimes a partially shorted contractor coil can give you no 24 volts.

Great vid! Quick tip if you suspect a wire thats cut; with all power off, at the condenser wire nut the wire u suspect is bad to another wire and go back to the thermostat so you dont have to climb and and check for continuity between the 2 wires. If the wire is cut you ll have no continuity. This is only for cut wires not shorted ones.

👍 good stuff I just found my yellow wire short going to the outside of the house. Rats chewed the wire and it was blowing 3 amp fuse because it was on top of naked cooper pipe.

My friend use a short pro tool that what I use to fix the short or continuity is very easy to find the broken wire I've been fixing a lot of this

You should have hooked up a Sparkomatic 6x9 speaker at the outdoor unit and see if it would have played some Motley Crue. 😂👌 #speakerwire
