Second review of pur water filter pitcher after filter soak

Hi An American... I noticed you had to hold the lid when pouring... I sm very miffed that the lid doesn't work. Who makes a water pitcher that has a lid the falls off....and NO ONE but me, seems annoyed! Mines is going nack to Walmart! Thanks for confirming that this was a real thing and not something I may have missed in the directions. Talk about a pink elephant!!! Sheeeeeeesh! Kw

the pur water filter makes the water taste very good i use it in my coffee machine and the coffee is great tasting

And how do you get the white lid to stay on? It just flops around it doesn't snap secure

Yours filtered through at an acceptable rate of speed; however, mine takes 12 hours to filter and there's still water left to go through. Forgot to say I followed the instructions to the letter.

From what I've seen on other people's reviews and comments it's an issue with the filter itself. Basically, it's faulty. Which sucks considering their price

@@alfaivre2990 Seems like all those "great minds" could have come up with a resolution by now. A pity this has not been resolved. Maybe this is their point... to make us keep buying and spending making them more and more wealthy. A pity for those of us seeking clean fresh water.

@@Jake-nk4wg no telling. I just got one and mine works well but I'm very underwhelmed with the design. Any water in the blue part and it spills water everywhere, I cannot understand why they wouldn't include a locking mechanism on this one.

@@alfaivre2990 Friend, after about your 3rd or 4th day your filter will begin to fail (I'm the only one using it and for drinking only). The life of my filter lasts, at best, 5 days. I remove the filter and give is several shakes, rinse and reinsert. This procedure lengthens the life for an additional 2 days then you have to replace and begin the procedure over again. Let me know what you think when your filter starts to fail the 4th or 5th day. If it lasts two weeks please write back.

@@alfaivre2990 Forgot to tell you: after my initial comment I purchased another, like yours, with the faster drip filter and got the results I just told you. My first one took a day to filter and then there would be water left unfiltered.

Hi thanks in advance for clearing up the confusion for me: I just bought this filter and I'm not sure what you're doing with the filling up the sink; all the Pur instructions just say to soak, what you did in that glass pitcher. And then flush under the faucet for 10 seconds with water. So I'm not sure at all what you're doing with the filling of the sink part; I've never heard of that, nor does any Pur literature mention it - please could you clarify this for me?

It is a awful design that the top can fall right off and break the older model now discontinued were designed to last it had a tight seal top this one the top was designed to break in a few months forcing you to buy a new one. I guess PUR wants it customers to buy multiple pitcher filters

I absolutely love the Pur pitcher, I’ve been using it all summer and on first filter. Pours nicely at low volume even though lid is loose. I saw on other reviews that the indicator does not work, instructions are misleading, you need to let up when lights are “still lit”, works fine! Also, right after purchase I read where Zero Water raises acidity...

I just bought this pitcher and am shocked that they didn't make the lid at least fit tightly on there. WHAT THE HELL?!?!?! I'm returning this POS. Clearly an idiotic design. The engineers should be shot.

I used these filters/pitcher for over 5yrs.....swore by them.....then they changed the filters and they are complete garbage now. Customer service is worthless.

@ZODIAK, I wondered about that when I set up mine, but soaked it just like the guy in the video did. Now after a couple of weeks, I get less water through the filter. When I replace that filter, I will soak it completely under water. Thanks for pointing this out!

WTH? He mumbles - why didn’t he have a glass ready on the counter at the onset? Explain to wash it all in the beginning? Why did he soak the filter? I can read everything he’s reading.!! SHOW ME! Don’t waste my time!
