Good try though. Also, thanks for calling it an ENGINE instead of a "motor" as so many of the youngsters do today. It seems only us older generation Folks know the difference between an electric motor and automobile engine. For that alone you've earned my subscription!!

@@stevenmenary2862 I’ve been a salesman for the last 40 yrs. This is just a hobby. I’ve never needed to test compression before. No need to buy one when I can borrow on maybe 1-2 times in my life. I don’t do this to teach anyone/anything. I do it because I enjoy it and thought others would enjoy it.

Thank you ! Some people feel it necessary to constantly put others down to try to build themselves up. Sad. If someone doesn’t like what I am doing they can move on. I’m just doing this for fun, and hope others enjoy what I’m doing as much as I do.

Fill the cylinders with apple cider vinegar for a week. Works every time.

To do a proper compression test, you remove all spark plugs, and block the carburetor in the wide open position and choke fully open. Otherwise you dont get a very good test, especially with a bad battery/starter.
@MNClassiccarsandtrucksАй бұрын
@@bertgrau3934 I agree with the removing all spark plugs. I thought of that after I was done, and figured with 2 psi in one cyl, I wouldn’t have enough to get it to run unless the rings freed up. The Full throttle theory was debunked by Roadkill. I was ready to scrap that engine and move on at that point . Thank you for the comments, and not in a sarcastic way as some have done. I’m just trying to have some fun.

sounds like rings are stuck, soak some evapo rust in each cylinder over night flush it out and try again...its how i unstick cylinders and free the rings .. im 3-0 using this method
@kenschultz3836Ай бұрын
1 cup evap o rust each cyl. might even go 2 days soaking if really stuck

Thx. I didn’t want to spend anymore time on it since I’m getting rid of it, and the starter is junk. It would maybe make another good video, but I pulled the engine and transmission yesterday.
